    Cariah b Livingstone 5 (WI 160-6)

    Bowled 'im! Livingstone has another.

A slower, loopy delivery deceives Yannic Cariah but it was a nothing shot, just a tentative prod that results in losing his middle stump.

Two in two overs for Livingstone, who are back in control. Shai Hope can only watch despairingly from the other end.

    Frustration for Sam Curran.

His first five balls concede just one run before dropping too short from the sixth and that gifts Yannic Cariah an easy boundary, just helped on its way down to fine leg.

  3. WI 152-5published at 30 overs

Yannic Cariah is the next man in, as West Indies wisely opt to hold the power-hitting of Romario Shepherd back for the last few overs.

  4. wicket

    Rutherford c Salt b Livingstone 63 (WI 152-5)

Breakthrough! Sherfane Rutherford's fine effort comes to an end after his first real lapse in concentration.

He tries to flay Liam Livingstone through the covers but picks out a leaping Phil Salt in the covers, taking a smart grab to his left.

England are delighted to break a partnership that was starting to look ominous.

Shai Hope playing straight down the ground is a thing of beauty.

The ball races away for four more as Curran just floats one up a little too full into his arc.

It was very good from Curran earlier but now this is the time to answer the doubters - against two well-set batters.

  7. WI 141-4published at 28.1 overs

    Oops!

Sam Curran returns but he starts with a no-ball.

Thankfully, he nails his yorker to get away with the free hit to Sherfane Rutherford.

  8. WI 139-4published at 28 overs

    Here we go!

Rutherford has been patient, but he's just starting to show us glimpses of his power. He drives Liam Livingstone beautifully through the covers for four, followed by a more unorthodox thump down the ground for the same result.

    Hello!

Sherfane Rutherford brings up a watchful half-century in not-so-watchful style, launching Rehan Ahmed over mid-wicket for six.

A lovely way to bring up 50 in just his second ODI. A fine innings of responsibility and maturity.

A couple to Sherfane Rutherford brings up the 100 partnership, and what a vital one it has been after a slip to 24-4.

Rutherford has also been superb so far. After his bizarre three-ball knock on Sunday, he's been patient here and just put the bad ball away when it's come.

Adapted really well to the situation.

Shai Hope has a better ODI career average than Brian Lara, Sachin Tendulkar, Ricky Ponting and Kumar Sangakkara.

Cheers, Tim. Can confirm, it's a game-changer for keeping your feet warm if you put it at the end of the bed.

Anyway, on to the cricket. I'd not actually seen much of Shai Hope's batting before Sunday's first ODI, but my word, isn't he a delight?

Right, I'm off for a quick break. My colleague Ffion Wynne is on hand. She informed earlier she's the proud owner of an "extra long hot water bottle". A game change for the winter nights while doing live text commentaries, apparently.

I'm considering investing in one as a Christmas present for a family member. Thankfully, none of my relatives read my work so they'll be oblivious that I've mentioned here.

    Anyway, all yours Ffion.

  15. WI 119-4published at 25 overs

West Indies happy to milk singles off Rehan Ahmed. Four taken off his latest over. The England leggie has a very economical 0-17 off his five overs.

The home side's run rate is 4.76 at the halfway point in their innings.

Simon: England had West Indies on the ropes then change the bowling attack and it’s a completely different game. Should have kept Curran on.

  17. WI 115-5published at 24 overs

"Brilliant Carsey.." Jos Buttler encourages from behind the stumps as Brydon Carse continues to toil in the late afternoon sunshine at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium.

Five runs added to the total.

Shai Hope chomps down two thirds of a banana brought on by a substitute fielder between overs.

He then works the first ball of Brydon Carse's sixth over off his legs, picks up two runs, and has a 44-ball half-century.

  20. WI 110-4published at 23 overs

West Indies skipper Shai Hope has heaved Rehan Ahmed into the leg side but there's a boundary rider and he only picks up a single. He has 48 off 42 balls now.

Sherfane Rutherford then edges the England leg-spinner but it's too low for Jos Buttler to get anywhere near it and he picks up four runs.

Three dots to finish the over from Ahmed.
