  1. WI 8-1published at 2 overs

    Target 188 (DLS)

Contrasting deliveries to end the over from Gus Atkinson.

The penultimate delivery is a bumper but the line is all wrong and Keacy Carty can just help it down to fine leg for four.

But the last is fuller and perfectly in the channel outside off, snaking past the edge as Carty pokes at it.

Slapped straight to cover! Gus Atkinson makes the early breakthrough!

A hint of width on offer and Brandon King went after it but is undone by the extra bounce and completely mistimes it.

Will Jacks is waiting at cover and holds onto the catch. Just what England wanted early in the innings.

  3. WI 2-0published at 1 over

    Target 188

Good over to get the innings under way from Sam Curran.

Just a pair of singles from it and a fair amount of lateral movement for him, too.

England will hope that continues throughout.

  4. WI 0-0published at 0.1 overs

    Target 188

    What a delivery to start!

Sam Curran gets the ball to hoop back sharply to Alick Athanaze and hits him on the back pad.

Huge appeal but given not out and England decide against the review.

Good call as well, the impact was outside off.

Thanks, Tim. All true on the dislikes but I'm no scrooge when it comes to Christmas!

Anyway, we're ready to go again and Sam Curran will bowl the first over.

West Indies need 188 in 34 overs to win the series...

A smaller total will probably favour West Indies.

Anyway, I'm off to grab a festive midnight snack. My colleague Sam Drury, who dislikes mince pies, Christmas cake and Brussels sprouts, will pick things up from here. Bah humbug.

It has just been confirmed that after the latest rain delay West Indies have been set a revised total of 188 in 34 overs.

England have brought in Matthew Potts today for Brydon Carse, who is missing through illness, and he would open the bowling you would have thought.

Potts has played just three ODIs for England and taken two wickets, both against Ireland in a match at Nottingham in September.

Looking at how the pitch played during England's innings, he'll fancy his chances of adding to that total.

The good news from the Kensington Oval is that the covers are now being dragged off.

Is Stuart from nearby St Lawrence Gap in Barbados still with us to provide a likely forecast?

Uh ohh, there are some showers around again at the Kensington Oval.

    The covers are coming on.

England chased 206 the other night, Greg, so not quite the same.

It's ticking towards midnight, so I'll forgive you.

West Indies debutant Matthew Forde, speaking to TNT Sports: "It was a dream start. Playing for West Indies was one of my dreams as a child so for me coming out of Antigua when I hadn't played, to play in front of my home crowd is exceptional.

On dropped catches: "It happens. Everyone drops catches, we can't be fully on it every day but I'm backing my batsmen to chase it down, 100%."

On the chase: "I'm overconfident. I just want to win this series."

"The pitch was a little dodgy up front, a little seam movement and a bit of bounce but hopefully under the lights it plays a bit truer."

England’s innings of 40 overs comes to an end nearly six hours after the scheduled start. So much for our fast-paced, all-action world.
