  1. Ind 380-7published at 110 overs

Jurel works Mark Wood around the field, playing a nice late cut for two before smacking the ball into an empty mid-on region for three.

    Partnership now up to 49.

England need not to get distracted here. Joe Root is concerned about what he thinks was more running on the pitch and he got cross the position of the Spidercam. It's been quite passive against this pair, quite un-England.

It’s a very un-Stokes field. These two are just playing with no pressure around the bat.

I wouldn't mind seeing a fielder in the face of these lower-order batters. The field is a little defensive for the spin bowlers.

  5. Ind 375-7published at 109 overs

Tom Hartley concedes two runs in an over for the first time today as the India batters each take a single into the leg side field.

Wood has three fielders out for the short ball. A bit of chin music is coming up.

Stokes is getting a bit funky with the field - moving the fielders around after every ball. It is what he does well.

  7. Ind 373-7published at 108 overs

Ben Stokes shuffles his field, putting some fielders out for a leg side catch.

He's put himself at leg gully, and Ashwin clips the ball just wide of him for four.

The England captain clutches his hands to his face - his plan almost worked.

That's an absolutely beauty from Tom Hartley. It pitched middle and off and ripped past Ashwin's outside edge. The odd one is starting to turn quickly which can only be bad news for England's batters.

  9. Ind 369-7published at 107 overs

Another delightful delivery closes Tom Hartley's sixth over of the session, bit of flight and the ball turning sharply to beat Ashwin's bat.

The England spinner has conceded just four runs today - two maidens and four overs featuring a single apiece.

The partnership is looking very dangerous. They are two players who look very comfortable against spin.

England look like they are bowling for the area rather than believing they can bowl then out. No close catchers!

It is no surprise at all they turn to pace. This pair have played England's main spinners with ease.

  11. Ind 368-7published at 106 overs

Yes, here's Mark Wood again after three overs from Rehan Ahmed.

India take three singles from the over - this partnership is up to 37.

This partnership is just starting to get a bit tricky for England. It's time for a bit of Mark Wood again.

In fairness, Ashwin probably thinks five runs to aid his off-breaks is a decent deal.

  14. Ind 365-7published at 105 overs

Another decent over from Hartley, just a Jurel single from it, pushing down the ground.

Ashwin is chuntering away at the umpires in the break between overs - he's evidently not happy about those penalty runs.

  15. Ind 364-7published at 104 overs

Ahmed drags one down and Ashwin's eyes light up, he dispatches the ball for four through point.

This already looks like a good total on a pitch that’s only going to get worse.

  17. Ind 359-7published at 103 overs

Six dot balls from Tom Hartley - Ashwin gets a bat on each of them but can't find a gap.

Ashwin has got the long spikes on, running up the pitch - something only a good spinner would do.

That is the first time I’ve seen penalty runs given for batsmen running down the pitch. Ashwin had no right to remonstrate with the umpire.

  20. Ind 359-7published at 102 overs

Classy shot from Ashwin, driving Ahmed along the ground through the covers for four.

Hello, what's this though? Ashwin tries to set off for a run and is sent back by partner, but he's now being spoken to by umpire Joel Wilson.

Replays show he ran down the centre of the pitch - India were warned yesterday, and as a consequence England will start their innings on 5-0, with penalty runs awarded.
