Another great catch from Ben Foakes, standing up. Jurel tried to manufacture that shot, looking to make his fifty and get down the other end as well. A big edge through to Foakes, very difficult to catch, big deflection. He's worth his weight in gold for the spinners.

    Jurel c Foakes b Ahmed 46 (Ind 415-9)

Rehan Ahmed strikes again with the help of a fine catch from Ben Foakes. The impressive Dhruv Jurel tries to cut to steal a single, gets a thick edge but Foakes snaffles it up.

Jurel is applauded and slapped on the back as he gets to the dressing room. He deserved a fifty on debut.

Great use of the feet by Jurel, walks straight down the pitch, gets a good piece of it, straight over mid-off, six runs.

    Ind 415-8published at 123.2 overs

Smoked down the ground by Dhruv Jurel. His skipper is applauding up in the dressing room.

  5. Ind 409-8published at 123 overs

    Jurel 40, Bumrah 0

Dhruv Jurel, on his third life now after those dropped chances, has batted well otherwise. He gets his single in this over as he attempts to take most of the strike.

  6. Ind 408-8published at 122 overs

I don't think Jasprit Bumrah has a clue which way the ball is turning. He lurches forward with a wonky bat to a googly that almost bowls him.

    It's another maiden.

At last, a wicket for England. Ashwin will be absolutely kicking himself, he had no real reason to play that shot, just sort of slogged it straight to Jimmy Anderson. England have finally made the breakthrough.

  8. Ind 408-8published at 121 overs

Tom Hartley doesn't get a look at Bumrah as Jurel bats through this maiden.

Hartley does manage to keep Bumrah on strike for Rehan Ahmed next.

Here's Jasprit Bumrah. Can England wrap it up?

    Tom Hartley will continue...

  10. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 120 overs

    Ashwin c Anderson b Ahmed 37 (Ind 408-8)

    They've held onto one! Just...

James Anderson fumbled it but, unlike his team-mates Pope and Stokes, clings on at the second attempt.

Ravichandran Ashwin is annoying having hit Rehan Ahmed low to mid on.

  11. 6 runs

    Ind 408-7published at 119.1 overs

Rehan Ahmed starts a new spell with a half-tracker that is slammed over the boundary.

    Salt meets wound.

Frustrating for England, couple of dropped chances. You don't often see Ben Stokes drop them, it came at a difficult height for him, he didn't know whether to go with fingers up or fingers down. Making it even harder for England - they've got to take chances, got to break the partnership.

  13. Ind 401-7published at 119 overs

That was tougher than the chance Pope one. It almost beat Stokes for pace. He's annoyed he didn't take it, however.

  14. dropped catch

Jurel dropped on 32published at 118 overs

A second drop in 20 minutes after lunch! England only have themselves to blame.

It's Ben Stokes too. At leg slip he gets a chance that flies quickly too him after Jurel flicked the ball off his toes.

Stokes gets his hands there in from of his chest but the ball goes down.

    Michael Vaughan
    Former England captain

From over the wicket where it’s so hard to be hit as a left arm spinner unless you bowl a really bad ball, I just can’t understand why England haven’t got a short leg or silly point. This isn’t the Stokes captaincy that we have all loved.

  16. Ind 400-7published at 117 overs

The crowd cheers as Ashwin brings up the India 400 on the sweep. Maybe it's because I've done a lot of sleeping since but 33-3 feels a long time ago.

  18. Ind 399-7published at 116 overs

    Jurel 32, Ashwin 35

That was pretty straightforward for Ollie Pope. The drop of Rohit Sharma cost England hugely yesterday. This chance would have exposed the tail.

Mark Wood, meanwhile, finds the flick down the leg side he's looking for from these short balls. Ravichandran Ashwin gets enough on it to take the ball down to the boundary, however.

  20. dropped catch

Jurel dropped on 32published at 115 overs

    There's the chance...

A Tom Hartley long hop is drilled to mid-wicket by Dhruv Jurel.

Ollie Pope is right there and the ball goes into his midriff but spills out.
