Well there's one of those 100, Tuffers.

Ben Foakes gets off the mark with a push to mid-on. Tom Hartley is denied his first run by a sprawling stop.

    Good from India.

England are in great danger of ruining all the hard work of the first two days here... losing six wickets inside 34 overs just isn’t good enough.

England need runs however they can.

The lead is 166. Not enough.

A shocker! The first ball of the session. I'm so, so sorry, England fans.

Jonny Bairstow had just got out there after tea and now is on the way back.

He has tried to push Ravindra Jadeja outside off but chips the ball straight to the fielder at cover.

    A huge blow.

An intriguing evening session awaits. A huge one, in fact.

I'm leaving you in the hands of Matthew Henry to take you through it.

    I like your confidence, Ollie.

It's hard to tell, though. The pitch goes through stages of behaving, and stages of skidding through without any bounce. A good total seems difficult to predict.

If you're just joining us after a Sunday morning lie-in, you've missed a lot.

India were bowled out for 307 after a brilliant 90 from Dhruv Jurel, reducing England's lead from 134 at the start of the day to 46 - and Shoaib Bashir taking five wickets.

It was still a handy lead, and England have built that to 166 but the five wickets that have fallen will be a concern.

Ben Duckett and Ollie Pope fell in consecutive balls to Ashwin to leave England 19-2 and Joe Root was lbw to the same bowler for 11. Crawley played well for his 60, but Kuldeep Yadav changed the course again by bowling him and then Ben Stokes for just four.

England reached tea 120-5 with Jonny Bairstow on 30 and Ben Foakes yet to score.

India won that session but England also scored 120 runs. For an hour it didn't spin and then half an hour it did loads. When it did 166 runs looked like loads of runs but if it goes back to being docile 166 looks like plain sailing.

If England can get 220 or 230 they will always be in the game.

This feels like it could be over quite quickly for England if they are not careful.

This is a huge knock for Foakes coming up. If he goes I don’t think England will have enough.

    Straight through this time!

A bit unlucky for Ben Stokes again, coming forward in defence but the ball does keep low, and ricochets off his pad and on to the stumps.

India are buzzing. A big scalp before tea.

  19. Eng 120-4published at 32.1 overs

    Ben, please.

He steps back, tries to whack Kuldeep through the leg side but it keeps very low and just misses the off stump.

India have left a big gap open on the leg side to tempt him and he almost fell for it.

  20. Eng 120-4published at 32 overs

    Tricky spell before tea, this.

Jadeja twirls his way through a maiden, bowling beautifully in tandem with the dangerous Kuldeep.
