    Cruel.

Tom Hartley gets one to hit a crack but it turns so sharply that it shoots past Ben Foakes' foot and all the way to fine leg for four byes.

What a difference a couple of wickets make on a suspect pitch and smallish target. Every ball seems to be doing something now.

Ravi Jadeja is in at five. India's main man, in many ways.

Oh how England would love to get him early.

Well, well, well. Brilliant bowling from Bashir and outstanding field placing to have Pope behind square because of the extra bounce Bashir gets.

    Hello!

Turn and bounce from Shoaib Bashir and the out-of-sorts Rajat Patidar edges on to his pad for Ollie Pope to take a stunner at short leg.

We've got a game on our hands, people!

  8. Ind 99-2published at 26 overs

A wicket maiden and heaps of pressure on Gill and new batter Rajat Patidar.

I'm not sure I've ever seen Ben Stokes celebrate a wicket with such animation. The England skipper still believes.

  10. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 25.1 overs

    Rohit c Foakes b Hartley 55 (Ind 99-2)

    England's reaction says it all!

Tom Hartley gets the reward for a lovely spell of bowling and it's the big one.

Stokes was squeezing the run rate, and the pressure tells on the India skipper who comes down the track - it looks like a stumping at first but it goes down as caught as replays show a faint edge.

    Wow. That's big.

  11. Ind 99-1published at 25 overs

    Need 93 to win

It's quite entertaining watching Rohit Sharma bat with first Jaiswal and now Gill.

It's like a proud father playing with his sons and sharing his wisdom with them. And the youngsters are desperate to impress him.

Monumental collapse needed. More chance of my two-year-old going back to sleep.

  13. Ind 97-1published at 24 overs

    Need 95 to win

As Billy said, Rohit is the key but Stokes is happy to give him the single at the moment to target Shubman Gill, who looks a little less composed.

Tom Hartley is bowling beautifully with little luck so far.

  14. Ind 95-1published at 23 overs

    Need 97 to win

Sub fielder Dan Lawrence lets one through his legs at mid-off and allows Shubman Gill to get off strike first ball.

Frustration. Rohit Sharma survives the rest of the over.

    Rohit is the key here.

  16. drinks break

    Ind 93-1published at 22 overs

Time for a drink as the first hour comes to an end.

The wicket has given England a boost but India are still in control.

  17. Ind 92-1published at 21 overs

    Target 192

    GillImage source, Getty Images

England and Shoaib Bashir pile the pressure on Shubman Gill, packing men around the bat, but India's number three withstands it.

He drives fluently to mid-off for a quick single to retain the strike as India now need 100 more runs to win.

  18. Ind 90-1published at 20 overs

    Target 192

Joe Root is quickly booted out of the attack for Tom Hartley, having done his job.

The odd one is keeping a little low but there's just nowhere near as much threat from England's spinners. And of course that's understandable, given the superior experience of India's attack.

  19. 50 runs

50 for Rohit Sharmapublished at 19.3 overs

    Ind 89-1

India's captain rises to the occasion when they need him. A classy knock.

You could tell straight away that Jimmy wanted to make a difference today. Didn't work out straight away with the ball but was trying extremely hard in the field and got his reward. What an athlete!
