Clear inside edge onto the pad from Joe Root.

Maybe Jasprit Bumrah, who is leading India with Rohit Sharma off the field with a back injury, thought it was pad first.

So close to six for Ravichandran Ashwin.

Tom Hartley gets on the back foot and a thick edge drops short of slip.

He's unable to react quickly enough and the ball goes through him and away for four.

    Ashwin has bowled beautifully.

He is getting plenty of dip and that's got him another wicket. Foakes was a good six inches away from it in the end.

    That is ugly.

It is so uncharacteristic from Ben Foakes too to be honest.

After blocking three deliveries he goes for a big booming sweep and the ball turns past his bat and into the stumps.

Ravichandran Ashwin has a five-wicket haul in his 100th Test. He's been brilliant, but has been helped by some really average England batting.

There's so much noise out there from the India fielders at the moment.

It ramps up a notch as Ben Foakes inside edges just past short leg for a single.

This situation should suit Ben Foakes game. He's a very gritty player and often looks to accumulate runs.

    England need those attributes now.

Ben Foakes is off the mark with a quick single into mid-wicket off Kuldeep Yadav.

You feel Foakes and Joe Root have a lot of work to do if England are going to make India bat again, let alone have any chance of winning this game.

I'm a fan of what's happened over the last 2 years, but this tour & some parts of the Ashes have been abject & brainless. It's hard to get behind them when Pope charges down the wicket & gets stumped in the over before lunch & Bairstow bats like it's a T20 in every game.... Our poor bowlers only get 50 overs rest & then are out in the field for 90+ overs humbled by good Test batting. I love watching Test cricket, but recently it's become quite annoying watching us lose from positions of strength.

It's pretty wide outside off stump from Ravichandran Ashwin and Ben Foakes, on the back foot, has a little prod.

It just misses the outside edge.

The players are back out in Dharamsala.

Ben Foakes is the new batter and he's got one ball of a Ravichandran Ashwin over to deal with initially.

Will we get another interval in this series or are we done in the next two hours?

England are in serious danger of not making it into day four. There are almost certainly no signs that it might go into day four but they've got to show fight.

Here's what's happened so far on day three:

    • England wrapped up the India innings this morning with James Anderson and Shoaib Bashir, who completed a five-wicket haul, taking the wickets. India had a lead of 259, though.
    • Ben Duckett was bowled in the second over by Ravichandran Ashwin, advancing down the pitch and playing a horrible hack
    • Zak Crawley was then caught at leg slip off Ashwin as England slipped to 21-2 in the sixth over
    • Ollie Pope seemed slightly more settled than usual but he was caught at square leg off Ashwin after playing a premeditated sweep
    • Jonny Bairstow counter-attacked, hitting three sixes off Ashwin, but was trapped lbw for 39 by Kuldeep Yadav to leave England 92-4
    • Ben Stokes was then bowled between bat and pad in the final over before lunch by Ashwin, who has 4-55 at the interval
    • England will resume on 103-5, still 156 runs behind

Shall we get back to the here and now?

England are in serious danger of a heavy defeat, possibly by an innings, in Dharamsala.

But, of those 700 wickets, which is Anderson's favourite?

The Lancashire man told BBC Sport last summer ahead of the Ashes.

Have a watch to find out which it is.

If you're just waking up and joining us then James Anderson has become the first pace bowler to take 700 Test wickets.

The 41-year-old brought up the landmark by having Kuldeep Yadav caught behind earlier.

He is third on the all-time list of wicket-takers in Tests behind spinners Muttiah Muralitharan of Sri Lanka and Australia's Shane Warne.

Compatriot Stuart Broad is the closest pace bowler on the list, claiming 604 before his retirement last July.

The duo are the only pace bowlers to reach 600, with Australia's Glenn McGrath previously holding the record at 563, which Anderson passed in 2018.

Anderson has reached the milestone in 187 Tests, at an average of 26.52.

Shall we concentrate on James Anderson for a bit?

Not sure I can bring myself to discuss the batting at the moment...
