Bizet gives Man Utd the lead against Man City

Manchester United boss Marc Skinner says Celin Bizet has the ability to be a "world class" player.

The Norway winger scored United's opener as they beat rivals Manchester City 2-0 on Sunday to reach their third consecutive FA Cup final.

"The goal was beautiful, right? But her first touch can be better," Skinner said in his news conference before Saturday's Women's Super League meeting with West Ham.

"The thing about Celin is she's surrounded by football people, so her dad used to play, obviously her fiance plays currently, and you can hit her with truth.

"So I said to her 'I think, right now, you're an international class player, but I think you can be a world class player'."

Liverpool interim boss Amber Whiteley said her side's performance in their FA Cup semi-final defeat by Chelsea is "just the start for us".

The Reds' hopes of reaching a first FA Cup semi-final since 1996 were crushed when WSL leaders Chelsea scored a late winner in the fourth minute of injury time.

Despite the result, it was another positive performance under Whiteley, who has guided Liverpool to victories against Arsenal and Manchester United since taking interim charge in February.

"It's not the first time that we've shown against top opposition that we can perform, and that we can compete," Whiteley said.

"This is just a start for us. It's going to take a little bit of time to build our style of play, but I think we've made a really good start and you can see the direction that we're trying to go in.

"We were disappointed with the result of course, we were so close to progressing through to Wembley, but the mood overall has been really positive because the performance was so, so good."

Liverpool have the chance to leap-frog Brighton and move up to fifth in the WSL when they face the Seagulls this afternoon.

  6. 'We've got quality on our team'published at 11:48 British Summer Time 19 April

West Ham v Man Utd (12:00 BST)

    West Ham United

West Ham manager Rehanne Skinner, speaking to Sky Sports, on her side's recent performances: "We've stuck to our task really well, made life difficult for the other teams and given a good account of ourselves showing how competitive we can be."

On their push to get into the top half of the table: "It's somehting we're obviously wanting to work on and keep improving as time goes on. In the time I've been here, the performances we've put in and results we've had recently, I think we're in a good place and want to keep working towards getting as many points as we can by the end of the season."

On breaking down a Manchester United side who have the division's best defensive record: "I think our forwards have a lot of confidence and I think we're more than capable of scoring goals across a lot of people. They're tough to break down but I think we've got quality in the team to exploit that. It will be difficult, that's just how it is playing against the teams in the top four. We've shown we can score goals against City, Arsneal and Chelsea so we're looking forward to doing that today."

  7. 'We're all about the game today'published at 11:42 British Summer Time 19 April

West Ham v Man Utd (12:00 BST)

    Manchester United

Manchester United manager Marc Skinner speaking to Sky Sports: "We're playing a really difficult team at their home ground. They're in good form, so we've got to be at our very best. We've got to show that hunger, that commitment, and chase the three points."

On reaching the FA Cup final and naming an unchanged side: "The reason I've kept the team the same is they were excellent in the game. I felt that there are some players who can come in and make a massive difference, but in this moment it was right for me to name an unchanged team. I'm going to ask [the bench] to come in and make a difference. We're going to need the whole squad.

"I've asked the team to forget [about Wembley]. We're all about the game today and trying to beat West Ham, who we know are difficult. We're going to put everything into this game."

On Phallon Tullis-Joyce: "She's an incredible goalkeeper and more importantly, the person fits right in with the ethos of the team. She will be key again today. The team ahead of her will have to do a lot of work and if they do that, we'll put ourselves in a good position to win the game."

  8. 'Best part of the season'published at 11:39 British Summer Time 19 April

West Ham v Man Utd (12:00 BST)

    Jen Beattie
Former Scotland defender on Women's Football Weekly

This was the best part the season for me. I absolutely loved it when you crunch that every game was like a cup final, whether you're chasing a title or chasing Champions League or trying to get to any final possible to lift the trophy, but you're down to bare bones.

I think you're always going to have niggles. Imagine, you have three games a week, so, you're just playing, recovering, training match day -1 and then playing a game. I absolutely loved it.
