    WOW! Out of nowhere!

The line-out is over everyone but Dannah O'Brien is quick-thinking and sticks the ball into the 22.

Amee-Leigh Costigan wins the foot race with Abby Dow to touch down.

O'Brien sends the conversion wide, but that was a brilliant score.

There is definitely a tussle here. Ireland's defence has been fantastic. They are just forcing errors from England.

Scrap that, Lark Atkin-Davies is off her feet at a ruck and Ireland can clear with the penalty.

The scrum is the only area of concern for Scott Bemand's side so far. Otherwise, this is anyone's game.

    Ireland 0-0 England

Ireland have the put in but the English pack steamrolls through the hosts and win the penalty.

It's taken quickly, and England are now just outside the 22.

    Ireland 0-0 England

It's a messy, messy phase of play all round.

England come away with the line-out but only at the second time of asking, but Sadia Kabeya spills the ball in the next phase.

    This is a proper match.

It's a mega take by Abbie Ward in the air but the maul collapses this time.

I'm not entirely sure how, but Ireland manage to steal it and O'Brien thumps it clear up to halfway.

    Defences still on top.

Ireland stop the English maul but it's not legal and the visitors will have another bite at this.

Amee-Leigh Costigan is warned for a couple of infringements there.

    Ireland 0-0 England

There's a bit of confusion as both sides give away penalties, but England won theirs first for a high tackle on Botterman so the visitors will have the ball in a great position.

Harrison pops it into the corner.

O'Brien puts another big hit in on Jess Breach and Ireland win the penalty as the English wing holds onto the ball on the floor.

Just like her male counterpart Sam Prendergast, the 21-year-old Irish fly-half can be a bit raw sometimes but she has been superb so far in both attack and defence.

There's been a lot of talk about Ireland's growth over the past 12 months.

If you want the stats laid out, they had already conceded four tries against England at this point last year.

England haven't opened their account yet, but have a good chance here as Harrison pops a penalty into the Irish 22.

  12. 'Ireland are making a mess of it for England'published at 17:04 British Summer Time 12 April

Ireland are doing a really good job at making a mess of it and making it hard for England. They have good approach game today.

But the thing that will get them today is penalties. England are giving them many opportunities. This will be continuous learning for Ireland.

It's fair to say the defences are on top.

Ireland hold firm just inside their own half as Talling is pinged for being off her feet at the ruck.

Neve Jones and Djougang were doing a lot of the heavy lifting there.

  15. 'Really good maul work from Ward'published at 17:00 British Summer Time 12 April

Ward is absolutely stunning. Her ability to hold that maul there without changing bind or positive is incredible. Really good maul work from her there.

England are looking for the penalty from the scrum as they power through the Irish pack, but referee Groizeleau calls for a reset.

That was ominous from the visiting pack, though.

Here comes the Irish maul....but England hold firm and win the scrum.

That ball wasn't going anywhere. Huge defensive set by the Red Roses.

O'Brien sends it into the corner. Ireland are piling the pressure on. Can they capitalise?

Linda Djougang is hauled down one metre away! So close for Ireland.

England then stray offside and Ireland win the penalty, but that was inches away from being the perfect start for the hosts.
