    Paul Murphy
Four-time All-Ireland winner with Kilkenny on BBC Sport NI

For me Darragh Fitzgibbon has just been huge for Cork this year. Particularly when Cork needed someone to stand up.

Against Limerick they went down one or two scores and it was Darragh Fitzgibbon popping up from midfield that was getting the score and that was really important for Cork to keep the scoreboard going. Again, against Dublin he started the second half really well and got the scoreboard moving.

He gets on a huge amount of ball, uses it really well and there is an enormous engine on this fella, he will cover every blade of grass.

Sean Finn has obviously come in for Barry Nash in corner back and what a replacement to have, possibly the defender of this generation.

  6. 'We just about deserved it' - Lohan on Clare victorypublished at 15:53 British Summer Time 7 July

Clare manager Brian Lohan says he has a "great bunch" of players after watching his team come from behind to defeat Kilkenny in the All-Ireland SHC semi-final at Croke Park.

The Cats were aiming for a third straight semi-final win over Clare and they held a commanding five-point advantage at the break.

Clare clawed their way back into the game in the second half and ran out 0-24 to 2-16 winners after a dramatic 70 minutes.

"I'm really delighted for our lads - they toughed it out and played a great second half," said Lohan.

It's probably Limerick's worst nightmare that they could potentially be stopped doing five in a row by Clare.

It's a brilliant position to be in for the Clare players and management to be in and I know some of the Clare background team are here today and are paying close attention to what happens.

There are 82,000 here, sell-out, and I think we'll be treated to a real spectacle.

  9. Clare battle back to overcome Catspublished at 15:49 British Summer Time 7 July

Clare produced a stunning second-half comeback to beat Kilkenny 0-24 to 2-16 and banish their All-Ireland semi-final demons.

Kilkenny had defeated Clare at the same stage in the previous two years but it proved to be third time lucky for the Bannermen.

It was hard to see this coming at half-time as Kilkenny had dominated and held a five-point lead at the break.

Clare fought back to clinch a place in the decider for the first time since 2013 and they face the winner's of today's second semi-final.

He [John Kiely] has transformed Limerick to tell the truth.

There has been a lot of talk about the staff, but he has got serious expertise behind him.

This is a huge day for these lads but they will be very, very confident. When you read through their team they have talent all over the pitch and they have a bench who have dug them out of a hole a couple of times before.

  14. Cork out to crush Treaty hopes of immortal glorypublished at 15:42 British Summer Time 7 July

    Limerick v Cork (16:00 BST)

In 2023, Limerick established themselves as one of the greatest hurling teams of all time as they matched the record of four All-Ireland's in a row, only previously achieved by Cork between 1941 and 1944 and Kilkenny between 2006 and 2009.

This year, they can go one better and crown themselves the very best and win the five-in-a-row. However, Cork will have other ideas.

The Rebels, in search of their 31st Liam MacCarthy Cup, will have the woes of 2021 in the back of their minds as they look for revenge over Limerick who ran out 3-32 to 1-22 winners in the decider that year.

Pat Ryan's side have built momentum on the way to Sunday's semi-final after offloading Offaly by 4-25 to 3-19 in a preliminary quarter-final and Dublin by 0-26 to 0-21 in the quarter-finals in June.

And we must not forget the treat that was served up at Pairc Ui Chaoimh in the Munster Championship where Cork hit 1-04 with four minutes to play to stun the Treaty County to a 3-28 to 3-26 defeat.

Limerick, however, secured themselves a spot in this year's semi-finals following a record-breaking sixth straight Munster final victory against Clare at the Gaelic Grounds last month. The road to the final is becoming routine for this unstoppable Limerick side.

Can the Rebels find a way to crush Treaty hopes of immortal glory?

    Austin Gleeson

I think it's going to be an unbelievable game. Cork beating Limerick already this year is going to add to the fire.

It's apparently a sell-out so the atmosphere is going to be electric and I'm really looking forward to it.

  18. Team newspublished at 15:23 British Summer Time 7 July

    Limerick v Cork (16:00 BST)

Both Limerick and Cork arrive in Croke Park for today's All-Ireland hurling semi-final in buoyant mood, but both are changed from their respective last outings.

There has been good and bad news for the defending All-Ireland champions as John Kiely is unable to call upon the services of Barry Nash, who picked up a hamstring injury in the build-up.

However, Limerick are chasing an unprecedented fifth straight hurling crown in 2024 for a reason and much of that is down to their strength in depth. So while Nash is out, in comes the vastly talented Seán Finn, regarded as one of the best corner-backs in the game.

In better news for the Shannonsiders, Seamus Flanagan has recovered from his own hamstring issues that saw him miss the Munster final win over Clare and is back in. Flanagan finished with 3-3 when Limerick fell to Cork in Páirc Uí Chaoimh in the Munster Championship and is named in place of Shane O'Brien at full-forward.

As for the Rebels, manager Pat Ryan has Robert Downey back for today's semi-final after the Glen Rovers man was a late withdrawal from the quarter-final win over Dublin.

Luke Meade deputised that day and rotates back out with Downey named at centre-back, but is expected to partner Darragh Fitzgibbon at midfield with Ciarán Joyce moving into the half-back line.

    Limerick: N Quaid; S Finn, D Morrissey, M Casey; D Byrnes, D Hannon, K Hayes; W O'Donoghue, C O'Neill; G Hegarty, C Lynch, T Morrissey; A Gillane, S Flanagan, D Reidy.

    Cork: P Collins; N O'Leary, E Downey, S O'Donoghue; T O'Mahony, R Downey, M Coleman; C Joyce, D Fitzgibbon; D Dalton, S Barrett, S Harnedy; P Horgan, A Connolly, B Hayes.
