Perez has always been comfortable around this circuit, he's got a really strong record, and at the moment it looks like the best position Red Bull might have of attacking the leaders. That's not beyond the realms of possibility.

Because the massive straight is the ideal location for Sergio Perez, on his fresher tyres, to blast past the Williams of Alex Albon for third place. The Mexican has also just clocked the fastest lap.
So, Charles Leclerc leads, Oscar Piastri is second. Perez is third, Albon is in fourth and Lando Norris is fifth.

All the talk this week is how can Piastri help Norris in the Championship fight and today it's the other way round. It's Norris who has helped Piastri by just holding Perez back by just a few corners and it's allowed Piastri to get out in front.

So, Sergio Perez has actually pitted and is now sixth, while Oscar Piastri stayed out, putting him behind the McLaren of Land Norris in fifth and under pressure. The Red Bull is looking to put pressure on the Briton an the team are asking Norris if he can help out his team-mate.
What Norris wants is to keep Carlos Sainz between Perez and Verstappen because if the Red Bulls are running together, they will swap them round to get Verstappen some more points.

Lewis Hamilton on the medium tyre is potentially a strange one given he started from the pit-lane, you might have expected him to go onto the hard tyre like some of the others towards the back.
