Re Yas from Birmingham: the rules have changed this season, if it's accidental handball and not by the goalscorer, the goal still stands; unlike last season when it would automatically rule a goal out!

Southampton manager Ivan Juric started his news conference with a fitness update: "Jack [Stephens] is OK, [Adam] Lallana still not. [Taylor] Howard-Bellis is still not and [Flynn] Downes is in training with us."

On whether Downes is available for first-team selection after being left out of the squad after Juric admitted there were "problems" in their relationship: "Hopefully, yes. Like in a family when you have a really bad moment. We had a really good chat and I think he understands the mistakes and everything. Even now, after everything, I think what I think when I first came here, that he is a very good player and a good guy who made a mistake. But's he's OK, he's fit and training very well."

West Ham fan on life under Graham Potter

West Ham fan Holly Turbutt says the supporters are positive about Graham Potter's tenure so far, despite the poor run of results, having won one, drawn one and lost three of their league matches under him.

"It's going to be more of a marathon than a sprint to get us back performing at our best," she told BBC Sport. "A lot of us are seeing this as a season for stabilising things and expecting next season is when we push on.

"We can already see what Potter is trying to do - we're seeing more organisation and our pressing looks a lot better. He is building a feel of togetherness."

Never understood the level of criticism at England managers. I don't recall other leading nations criticise their managers as much for as long. It's not just down to social media, it's partially that but also down to often unrealistic expectations. Were England really the best team in many years between 1966 and present.

  9. West Ham 'need to improve results'published at 14:19 Greenwich Mean Time 20 February

Arsenal v West Ham (Sat, 15:00 GMT)

    West Ham United

West Ham boss Graham Potter on what changes he has seen since he joined the club in January: "Day to day I think it's been really pleased with, and that's almost the disappointing thing about the first half against Brentford: we didn't really see that in terms of how the players were and how the players have been. Sometimes these things happen and you have to put it into context and perspective.

"But genuinely how the players have applied themselves has been really positive. I think there has been a change in behaviour, a change in intensity about how we train and how we play. That's a step by step process; if it's too much too soon, there could be problems with injuries.

Clearly, results wise, we need to improve as well. That's where the work is. We have to think about the context we're in and the situation we're in, but also know we're in the Premier League and we need more points."

Thanks Yas and Brian. Anybody want to step in and say VAR, referees or the handball laws are unfairly criticised?

Among all these messages for Aston Villa and Liverpool game last night, why there is not a single mention of inept refereeing again when McGinnis handball was not given which lead to a goal. A handball is a handball and it was a clear handball as day light. These decisions do matter for every team and we have a lot of them every weekend for every team. There is no consistency on the field and VAR decisions in one of the best leagues in the world.

    Yas from Birmingham

So last year, some of us Arsenal fans felt the Villa March cost us the title. Flash forward to a warm day in May with Arsenal taking the league... Liverpool fans will be able to say the same thing. Is Villa the test?

  12. West Ham haven't entertained home fans - Potterpublished at 14:12 Greenwich Mean Time 20 February

Arsenal v West Ham (Sat, 15:00 GMT)

    West Ham United

West Ham boss Graham Potter on the criticism of the atmosphere at the London Stadium and the Hammers' home form: "I have no idea about the historical debate. From my perspective, we want to try and help the team to play at home; you always want to entertain and please your home fans and I think it's fair to say we haven't done that for a period of time as we would've liked, that's for sure.

"I think having a strong home record helps the mood and the positivity around the club, so of course, that's one of our challenges."

Harry Maguire has to get a shout for being unfairly criticized. A top guy receiving so much criticism and the way he dealt with it was admirable. He didn't stop trying or react badly, he just kept going and showed his qualities.

  15. Facing Arsenal 'a big challenge'published at 14:05 Greenwich Mean Time 20 February

Arsenal v West Ham (Sat, 15:00 GMT)

    West Ham United

West Ham boss Graham Potter on what he has learned about facing Arsenal from his time managing other clubs: "It's a different context really. Not too much to be honest. It's more about how can we prepare the players and team to go to a tough place.

"Arsenal are a tough team, but I think it's a good game for us in terms of responding to the disappointment against Brentford. We're looking forward to it; we've had a good week again and now we're looking forward to a really big challenge. And that's what it is - a big challenge.

The definition of under-appreciated…. Jordan Pickford one of the best and definitely the most successful keeper England have had since Banks. Would have won a major tournament had England been better at penalties previously. Even scored a penalty in a shoot-out. Loved by Evertonian’s, maybe not world class but far better than most people think he is, kept us in the league.

  18. Ferguson has fitted in well - Potterpublished at 13:57 Greenwich Mean Time 20 February

Arsenal v West Ham (Sat, 15:00 GMT)

    West Ham United

West Ham boss Graham Potter on managing on-loan striker Evan Ferguson: "He came on [against Brentford] and made a good impact. As I said before, we just need to be careful with him in terms of how we are building him up, the minutes he plays. Probably 90 is a bit of a step, I would say, so just need to make sure we are taking him forward in the right way and safely fir him - he hasn't played a lot minutes over a period of time.

"But he's training really well and has fitted into the squad really well."

  19. Paqueta out for Arsenal gamepublished at 13:55 Greenwich Mean Time 20 February

Arsenal v West Ham (Sat, 15:00 GMT)

    West Ham United

West Ham boss Graham Potter on the injury to Lucas Paqueta: "It was a training incident: really just an innocuous one. He went over on his ankle in a little collision with Aaron [Wan-Bissaka]. So rolled his ankle and he'll be missing for the [Arsenal] game, and probably Leicester as well.

"We'll see how he is, but it has swollen up a bit. Apart from that, it's pretty much as you were."
