It's a busy climb with lots of people.

The weather today is baking hot, although it is starting to cool.

If the riders can get off the descent without any rain, then they probably won't be bothered by it because it'll help cool them down.

    9km

George Bennett (LottoNL–Jumbo) has just collided with a fan on the side of the road as the leaders make a small descent. The road looks slippy with a film of rain but what was that punter doing? They just walked out into the street without looking.

Against the best advice of my colleagues I hired out a bike earlier to have a go at this final climb earlier - It was awful!

It is a constant gradient going up and down...

And I'm pretty sure I saw the man Chris Froome had a brush with yesterday up towards the finish.

Hmm, let's hope he isn't lurking up there. There have been a few close calls already today.

Tom Dumoulin (Team Giant-Alpecin) fancies a bit of a push up the track and has a 21-second lead now.

The peloton is eight minutes back, so it's safe to assume that the stage winner is likely to come from one of the leading group on the road.

Cofidis' Dani Navarro is the latest to attack from the leading pack as they start their ascent up the first mountain-top finish. Movistar's Jesus Herrada is up there too, as is George Bennett (LottoNL–Jumbo).
