FDJ's Thibaut Pinot makes it to the top to grab the maximum king of the mountains points.

Team Sky still grinding the peloton up the climb. Why aren't other teams pushing it too? Must be frustrating for Chris Froome's team-mates.

The leaders are toying with each other out front. They have 1km to the top of Col de Beixalis.

Britons Chris Froome, Adam Yates and Mark Cavendish are in the peloton. Team Sky are doing the donkey work again, it seems.

Ten out in front now, including two Movistar riders Winner Anacona and Jesus Herrada. FDJ's Thibaut Pinot and Tinkoff's Rafal Majka are up there to.

Eight minutes back the peloton are pushing up the climb as Geraint Thomas gratefully receives a bottle of water from a punter and pours it over his head.

    It's baking hot out there.

Oh dear Thomas de Gendt has seen his 40 second lead to collapse to nothing. The Belgian is going backwards as the leaders power past him on the category one Col de Beixalis.

Some concerning scenes as fans get a bit too close to the peloton as it makes its way up the same climb. They are nine minutes back from the leaders but there are a few flailing arms from the riders to try and pave a way.

You will recall that Chris Froome had to push a fan away yesterday which he defended after stage eight. The yellow jersey holder said: "It's fantastic having so many fans out on the route but please, please, I urge the fans: don't try and run with the riders. It's really dangerous for the guys behind."

Froome was fined 200 Swiss francs (£157) by organisers for what was deemed "inappropriate behaviour".

Thomas de Gendt (Lotto-Soudal) made a break up the category two climb Cote de la Comella and took the maximum king of the mountains points. The Belgian now has a 40 second gap on the leading group.

The peloton now cruises through Andorre la Vieille as the leaders begin a category two climb up Cote de la Comella.

    Easy pickings by today's standards.

The leaders take on the only intermediate sprint of the day in Andorre la Vieille. Well, when I say 'take on', I really mean stroll towards the line, and you cannot blame them after today's slog.

Tinkoff's Peter Sagan coasts to the line under no challenge to pick up maximum points.

    Full run down to follow.

    50km to go

The gap is now up to 10 minutes, which will favour the likes of Mark Cavendish at the back of the peloton. Team Sky team principal Sir David Brailsford talked yesterday of his frustration when it comes to other teams doing their share of work. "If you want to win the Tour de France you have to step forward," he said.

The leaders are now over the border into Andorra.

The gap from the leaders to the peloton is now at over eight minutes. Team Sky have dropped off the pace.

Time for someone else to have a go?

  20. Another withdrawalpublished at 14:18 British Summer Time 10 July 2016

For those who have pointed out, OJ didn't do 2,240km up the Andorre Arcalis, merely 2,240m!

Meanwhile, Cedric Pineau is the second FDJ rider to pull out after Matthieu Ladagnous.

He is the fourth withdrawal today, and the fifth overall.
