That, mes amis, is a record.

Just a reminder that three riders have a chance to get the green jersey at the end of today's stage: Peter Sagan, Mark Cavendish and Marcel Kittel who have 161, 154 and 152 points respectively after the earlier intermediate sprint.

The gap to leaders Yukiya Arashiro and Jan Barta is one minute 35 seconds.

All the main contenders, including Cavendish, Chris Froome and Greg van Avermaet are safely in the peloton.

As mentioned at the beginning of the race, all 198 riders start stage six today, which is unusual. There were nine out by this stage last year, five in 2014 and three in 2013.

The crowds are out as the peloton races through Villefranche de Rouergue. The gap is down to two minutes and 30 seconds.

Not mentioned Chris Froome much today, but he's safely in the pack. This is warming up nicely for a bunch sprint come the end.

So far it looks like today is made for a sprinter and with France in action tonight against Germany in Euro 2016's other semi-final (live on BBC One), wouldn't it be perfect for a home contender to win stage six beforehand?

It would have suited Cofidis rider Nacer Bouhanni. Alas, he's missing from this year's Tour after he injured his hand in a fight on the eve of the French national road championships. He rode that event, but the wound then became infected and his Tour chances were over.

The team was built around him too, so sure his team-mates weren't too happy!
