Few shots of the man in yellow on my television. That of course is Yves Lampaert, who rode superbly to win the opening individual time trial in Copenhagen ahead of Wout van Aert.

Tadej Pogacar was a further two seconds back in third place, nine seconds ahead of Slovenian compatriot Primoz Roglic.

Britain's Adam Yates and Geraint Thomas finished 13th and 18th.

Fellow Ineos Grenadiers rider Tom Pidcock was sandwiched between the pair after taking advantage of the more favourable later conditions to roll over the line in 15th.

Belgian rider Lampaert looks good in yellow doesn't he?

Danish rider Magnus Cort is really playing to the home crowd and enjoying himself today.

He raises his hands up in the air to celebrate like a victory as he takes the last KOM points on offer.

The peloton has been out on the road for an hour and the racing started with the usual flurry of attacks until a four-man group of Sven Erik Bystrom (Intermarche-Wanty-Gobert Materiaux), Magnus Cort (EF Education-Easypost), Cyril Barthe and Pierre Rolland (B&B Hotels-KTM) managed to clip off the front and stay clear.

Since the first climb that four has become two with Bystrom and Cort - who has taken both King of the Mountains sprints - opening up a 40-plus second gap on the B&B Hotels duo.

The main bunch sit a further three minutes back or so.

After the rain on the opening time trial in Copenhagen the blue sky and sunshine (with a few fluffy clouds) are back today as the Tour de France travels the 202.2km route from Roskilde to Nyborg in Denmark.

Massive crowds are lining the route, this race is very much the sight and sound of the summer.
