Four-time Tour de France winner Chris Froome rolled back the years to finish third in today's stage and was understandably pretty pleased about it, after his long struggles with injury: "I gave it absolutely everything I had today to win the stage, and I don't have any regrets.

  18. Postpublished at 17:11 British Summer Time 14 July 2022

    1.8km to go

Tom Pidcock has some space on the road at last, because the crowd are back behind barriers. He plugs on, and the gap is getting bigger.

    2.3km to go

Further up the road, Britain's Tom Pidcock has got a 35 second lead on Louis Meintjes for the stage win. Chris Froome is another minute back, but seems to be struggling.

Wow. Tadej Pogacar has not managed to lose Jonas Vingegaard with that attack, but he has dropped everyone else. Geraint Thomas is coming back across though...
