  1. Au revoirpublished at 17:05 British Summer Time 15 July 2022

That's us done - there is never a dull day on the Tour, as we just saw. A shame we didn't get another British stage winner but Mads Pedersen definitely deserved his triumph. Here's the report of how he did it...

Shall we do it all again tomorrow? Join me for the 192.5k trek from Saint Etienne to Mende, with plenty of climbing and a good chance of another breakaway win.

    Bye for now...

  4. 'It's incredible to finally take a win'published at 16:57 British Summer Time 15 July 2022

Danish rider Mads Pedersen is a former World Road Race champion, but this is his first stage win at the Tour de France, and indeed any Grand Tour.

“It’s incredible to finally take a win," he said. "I knew the shape was really good and I definitely missed out on the opportunities in the first week.

"In the last two weeks of this race there’s not a lot of chances for a guy like me. So to take the chance today and get the reward is really nice, not only for me but for the whole team. We came here with riders only for stages and now we have one so it’s such a relief.”

  5. 'I was going to try to surprise him'published at 16:51 British Summer Time 15 July 2022

Britain's Fred Wright took second place today, and he admits he was unsure how to deal with Mads Pedersen's sprinting prowess at the end of stage 13.

Asked what his tactics were in the final 1km, the 22-year-old Londoner said: "Surprise him, make him think that... well, I don't know to be honest... I was just going to try to surprise him."

  6. Two attacks by Pedersen pay offpublished at 16:45 British Summer Time 15 July 2022

Mads Pedersen was favourite for the final sprint but he still had to get his tactics right, and he did that twice - first by splitting the six escapees in half with 12km to go, and then with his burst for the line with 250m to go.

  8. More points for Van Aertpublished at 16:39 British Summer Time 15 July 2022

Wout van Aert - of course - is near the front of the peloton, looking for seventh place on the stage - and more green jersey points.

He gets them too, turning on the burners and leading the yellow jersey bunch over the line.

  9. Postpublished at 16:37 British Summer Time 15 July 2022

No fireworks on the General Classification today, and the peloton is rolling towards the finish line at a less ferocious pace than usual.

  10. Mads Pedersen wins stage 13published at 16:34 British Summer Time 15 July 2022

Mads Pedersen just jumped away there, producing the power when it mattered inside the final 200m. There was nothing Fred Wright or Hugo Houle could do about that.
