    A rather special Tour de France comes to an end.

    The final ceremony is under way in Paris, where Jonas Vingegaard will soon be crowned champion for the first time.

    It was Jasper Philipsen who prevailed among the sprinters on the iconic Champs-Elysees finish on stage 21 - but only after both Geraint Thomas and Tadej Pogacar had a go at breaking clear.

    Here's what Tour de France winner Jonas Vingegaard had to say:

    "It's just incredible. I have finally won the Tour. Nothing can go wrong anymore. I am sat with my daughter with me. It is just incredible.

    "It is the biggest cycling race of the year, the biggest one you can win and now I have done it. Nobody can take this away from me.

    "I always had the feeling that at least I could fight for the win. But I think in the end when I really started believing was after Hautacam. I always believed in it but I was thinking something really has to go wrong after Hautacam."

    Geraint Thomas, speaking to ITV after sealing his third-place finish, said on his final attack alongside team-mate Filippo Ganna: "We knew we were always up against it but you've just got to have a go.

    "It was always a massive long shot but I just enjoyed racing.

    "I'm still making the most of it. I can see I'm closer to the end of my career than the start so I just want to soak it all in and enjoy it."

    Here's stage 21 winner Jasper Philipsen, who has picked up his second stage win at this year's Tour:

    "It is a childhood dream and it will take a while to realise.

    "I'm super and happy and proud that I could win on the beautiful Champs-Elysees. It is the dream of any sprinter.

    "It couldn't be better. We had some disappointments. Things that went not the way we wanted.

    "But to finish off in style like this, for a sprinter it is just unbelievable."
