DangerDave: Moment of the Tour is the green jersey leading the maillot jaune and maillot blanc up the Hautacam and in contention for KoM. Never again in our lifetime!

You never know with those three. Same again next year...

  2. Postpublished at 10km to go

Just 10 kilometres of the 2022 Tour de France remain.

Only two riders remain in front of the peloton in Rutsch and Schachmann - and their lead is vanishing quickly.

  3. Postpublished at 12km to go

Caleb Ewan will have been dreaming of victory on the Champs-Elysees as he forced himself up those Pyrenees climbs this week.

He's currently placed last overall, and the Lanterne Rouge has never previously won on the iconic finish.

  4. Postpublished at 15km to go

Less than three laps of the Champ-Elysees circuit to go.

The gap to the breakaway quartet of Rutsch, Schachmann, Duchesne and Le Gac remains at 15 seconds with 15kms left.

  5. Postpublished at 20km to go

Pretty much every team with a sprinter has positioned a rider towards the front of the peloton to maintain pressure on the now four-man breakaway, after Owain Doull decides to leave the others to it.

  6. Postpublished at 24km to go

Olivier Le Gac, Antoine Duchesne, Jonas Rutsch, Max Schachmann, and Welshman Owain Doull are the five riders who currently find themselves around 15 seconds ahead of the peloton as the final 20 kilometres approach.

  7. All sprinters still presentpublished at 18:15 British Summer Time 24 July 2022

Somewhat surprisingly, all the sprinters who started the Tour back in Copenhagen are still in the race.

Caleb Ewan, Fabio Jakobsen, Jasper Philipsen, Dylan Groenewegen, Wout van Aert, Alexander Kristoff, Alberto Dainese, Mads Pedersen, Danny van Poppel, Hugo Hofstetter, Michael Matthews and Peter Sagan are all in contention for the 21st stage.

If they get the chance, who do you fancy?

  8. Postpublished at 32km to go

It's all come back together again as we close in on the last 30km.

A final bunch sprint is looking ever more likely.

  9. Postpublished at 37km to go

Stefan Bissegger, who endured a bit of a nightmare on yesterday's time trial following an early mechanical, takes maximum points at the final intermediate sprint of the race.

Ineos Grenadiers' Dani Martinez and Movistar's Matteo Jorgenson have joined the lead group which is now six riders strong, but just a handful of seconds ahead.

  10. Postpublished at 42km to go

We're approaching the end of the third lap on the Champs-Elysees and that means we're coming up to the sole intermediate sprint of the stage.

Wout van Aert settled that competition a long, long time ago.

It's all change at the front, with a new quartet of Stefan Bissegger, Stan De Wulf, Jan Tratnik and Frenchman Mathieu Burgaudeau hovering around seven seconds in front of the peloton.

Peter Waumsley: Moment of the the Tour was definitely the touch of hands between Jonas and Tadej on the downhill section on Thursday. Two warriors battling each other but showing maximum respect.

    Lovely stuff.

  12. Postpublished at 49km to go

There's a quartet of riders out in front now. Pierre Latour has joined Nils Politt, Benoit Cosnefroy and Krists Neilands as we enter the final 50km of the race.

The sprint teams are desperate not to let this get out to an uncomfortable distance and it's a frantic pace right now. The peloton is really strung out...

  16. 'We have very interesting years ahead'published at 17:40 British Summer Time 24 July 2022

One damaging attack from Jonas Vingegaard on the on Col du Granon on stage 11 ultimately cost Tadej Pogacar his hopes of winning the race for a third successive year.

But you can be sure he'll come back stronger next year.

"It's been a good three weeks, with many ups and downs, with lots of bad luck for my team, but the battle between me and Jonas for the yellow jersey has been very special," Pogacar said.

"I think we have some very interesting next two or three years ahead of us. Jonas has stepped up his game this year. I'm motivated and looking forward to the next challenges."

What about a final attempt at a breakaway win for Fred Wright?

You wouldn't put it past him. Another rider who has lit up this Tour.

    Welcome to Paris!

The peloton is in the French capital and closing in on the Champs-Elysees circuit.

The Champs-Elysees has hosted the finale of the Tour since 1975. This is the 50th finish there, however, as in 1976 and 1977 two stages ended on the iconic stretch.

    Job well done.

It remains to be seen whether Wout van Aert goes for a final shot at glory at the end of today's stage. You'd imagine he absolutely will.

He still allowed himself just a small sip of champagne while celebrating with his team. There's still a fair few kilometres to go for him to shake that off.

A nice touch. Simon Geschke is allowed to go solo over the top with the peloton chilling behind him.

He'll finish seven points behind Jonas Vingegaard. A sterling effort.
