That's your lot for tonight everyone. Thank you for joining us for what was another brilliant night of darts in Newcastle.

Michael van Gerwen again emerged victorious - a third weekly win in a row for him, matching his total for the whole of last year's Premier League.

You can read Callum Matthews' report here.

Luke Littler and co need to find some way of stopping Mighty Mike, starting next week in Exeter, otherwise it could become a procession.

Join us again next week to see if they can. Goodnight!

  3. 'No targets - but it could be a record this year'published at 23:06 Greenwich Mean Time 22 February

Result: Nathan Aspinall 4-6 Michael van Gerwen

Night four winner Michael van Gerwen, speaking on Sky Sports: "I love those gold trophies! It’s good to win like I did. People think it’s easy but it’s not easy. All the pressure, you have to deal with it all the time.

"First two legs I played poorly but it's first to six and I never gave up. I feel confident and as long as I feel confident, I don’t care about the rest.

"I’m not going to give myself any targets. I’m going week by week, no targets, no goals, just keep focussing otherwise I get bored.

"At the moment, the plan works so hopefully I can keep going. Winning is the most important thing, as a darts player you don’t care about anything else.

"When someone is not in form, winning the the best medicine to do well.

"Sometimes there is pressure on me, I know that but it is how you deal with it. Everything has to be right if you want to perform well.

"I don’t know how many nights I can win, I don’t want to give myself a target but it could be a record [number of weekly wins] this year.

"At this time of year you need to keep your focus going and your motivation going. Everything is going well at the moment and I don’t care about the rest."
