Nathan Aspinall will be sick of people saying that he's starting well. There's nothing you can do about that, it's not something you can sort in practice.

I have a feeling these two will bring the best out of each other.

Here we go then, Nathan Aspinall is first on stage and the Newcastle crowd are really going for it to his walk-on song - Mr Brightside by The Killers.

The decibel level stays equally high for Michael Smith as he makes his way to the stage to Walk the Moon's Shut Up and Dance.

Two real crowd pleasers to get the night started!

Nathan Aspinall will be frustrated that he has let leads slip. He can get down pretty quickly.

His body language can be of someone that is losing, even when he's winning.

He just needs it to click for one whole game. If you get more than a week behind, and five points, you start to panic.

Up first, it's 2023 world champion Michael Smith against Nathan Aspinall.

Smith won out on the opening night in Cardiff but after losing in the semi-finals in Berlin, he was beaten 6-4 by Rob Cross in the quarters last week.

Meanwhile, Aspinall is still winless in this year's Premier League. He began well against Luke Humphries in Glasgow last Thursday before falling away to lose 6-3.

It's still early days but he needs to turn things around sooner rather than later or be left with too much to do to make the top four.
