    Athletics

Kyron Duke was less than two metres away from earning a podium spot in the men's F41 javelin, and he's already got eyes on bettering his sixth place in Tokyo in four years' time.

“I can’t ask for anything better, it is not a medal but it is as good as. I have done my best and come out at the top of my game," he said.

“I’m really looking forward to the World Championship back at home next year and then I’ve got my eyes set on Tokyo 2020.

“I’m hungry for it – I’m getting closer and closer. I threw a PB today so it is going to come. Not everyone gets what they want straight away, things take time. But I have the determination and will put in the hard work to get there.”

Here's a little more from former handcyclist Rachel Morris, who shed tears of joy after winning the women’s singles sculls, eight years after winning gold in the road race in Beijing.

Morris, who also won a cycling time trial bronze at London 2012 and only took up rowing in 2013, said:

“That was the hardest thing I’ve ever done.  It just goes to show if you have stuff drilled into you every day by the coaches and you do it you can win.

“It was hard to make the transition form cycling but we’ve got fantastic support staff and coaches and the investment from the National Lottery makes all the difference.”

Great Britain's Neil Fachie and Pete Mitchell take silver in the men's tandem B 1000m time trial, but it took a Paralympics record from the Netherlands to beat them, with the Dutch topping the podium.

As we thought might happen, GB team-mates Ball and Maclean drop out of the medal spots despite setting the quickest time at one stage, and they eventually finish fifth.
