    T54 men's 1500m heats (22:56 BST)

You could probably understand why David Weir lost his 400m final this morning when he was told just hours before the race that his son Lenny was born.

Weir is a passionate family man and has the names of his children tattooed on his arm.

No doubt he'll be eager to get home to his wolf pack and add to his sleeve.

But first, he'll want to focus on qualifying for the 1500m final. The heats start at 22:56 BST.

What a star this guy is.

Walid Ktila wins his third Paralympic gold and successfully defends his title in the men's T34 100m, with a Games record of 15.14 seconds.

The Tunisian is also the world champion and world record holder in the event.

    Dominant.

    Women's T54 1500m heats

The second race of the women's 1500m was even faster but too fast for Britain's Jade Jones.

The women split the race into two packs with Jones leading the second pack in fourth after two laps but she dropped way to cross the line last in 3:32.88

Another American, Amanda McGrory was responsible for the fast pace of the contest as she powered home to set a new Paralympic record of 3:22.75.

Her compatriot Chelsea McClammer follows by a whisker to claim second with Switzerland's Manuela Schar in third.

I'm feeling quite sick to be honest.

She's come into this pushing the fastest that she has done.

Jade knows that this is the toughest of the semis. She's just got to go quick basically.

Grey-Thompson is Jade Jones' coach. Jones is competing in the T54 1500m heats.

It wasn't to be for GB's Sam Ruddock in the men's F35 shot put.

The 26-year-old finished last in his event, after failing to get past the 14m mark in his six attempts.

China's Xinhan Fu won gold, after a personal best throw of 15.19m, with Argentina's Hernan Emanuel Urra in second and Edgars Bergs of Latvia in third.

Now that's what I call teasing your opponents.

American Tatyana McFadden, who is aiming for six golds in Rio, looks a sure favourite to bag her second in the 1500m.

She burst out in front for 100m before settling in the pack on the second lap to save something special for the last lap.

And that last lap was incredible. She explodes away from the group at the final bell to cruise over the line in 3:27.42.

    She's simply too good.

Not content with setting one world record and winning gold in Rio, France's Marie-Amelie Le Fur has done it again!

Le Fur's first achievement came in the T44 long jump, and she's done the double in the women's 400m, winning in 59.27 seconds.

    Incredible.

Instead, the 13-year-old has been swimming in a Paralympic final.

Race winner Becca Meyers set a new world record but after peeling off her three swimming caps a thrilled Kane, who finished sixth, took time to speak to BBC Radio 5 live's Kate Grey.

Could it be time for GB's Jonny Broom-Edwards to win gold at a major tournament?

The 28-year-old took bronze at the European Championships this year and silver at the 2015 worlds.

He's up against great rival Maciej Lepiato of Poland in Rio. They get under way in around half an hour.

Colchester's Broom-Edwards was born with a club left foot and weakness in his right leg. He was a keen basketball player when he was younger, but decided to focus his attentions on jumping over a pole instead.

    Women's T54 1500m

There's some big names going in the women's T54 1500m heats this evening.

American Tatyana McFadden has already won a silver in 100m and gold in the 400m in Rio, and now she starts the defence of her 1500m title.

The Russia-born athlete left London 2012 with three golds in the T54 event, claiming the 400m, 800m and 1500m to add to her four silver and three bronze medals from previous Games.

Hoping to steal her crown is Swizerland's Manuela Schar - a four-time European champion.

Also lining up in the heats is GB's Jade Jones, a Commonwealth Games bronze medalist. She's coached by the legendary Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson.

China's Jin Zhipeng is about 10 metres behind and crashes into the wall for silver.

There's a gap between Denmark's Larsen and Japan's Suzuki but it's Larsen who storms clear and he takes the bronze in 2:33.

That's her third gold medal in Rio and she's not done yet. The American will go for two more.

Anna Stetsenko of Ukraine looks tired as she touches the wall to take silver while Spain's Ariana Edo Beltran fights for the bronze and gets it.

Here comes Britain's Abby Kane as she finishes in fifth with a new personal best but her favourite event, the 100m backstroke, will come later in the week.

His personal best of 13.75m came on his international debut at the World Championships in Doha, and he threw 13.65m at the European Championships earlier this year.

Abby Kane will be the coolest girl in school if she returns from Rio with a Paralympic medal.

Kane, who is a pupil at Largs Academy in Ayr, Scotland, lines up in her first Paralympic final at the age of just 13.

She smashed the British record for the S13 100m backstroke at the Paralympic trials in April.

But she's up next with 400m of water to get through. We've already seen one teenager in Ellie Robinson win gold. Will we see another?
