    GB through to 5th/6th playoff

A comprehensive 5-1 victory for GB against rivals Ireland means that they qualify for the 5th/6th playoff as they finish their final group game.

Earlier defeats for both sides against London 2012 silver medallists Ukraine and hosts Brazil meant that neither side could compete for medals.

GB's final game in Rio will be on Wednesday.

The GB men suffer their first loss of the Rio Paralympics, going down 65-48 to London 2012 bronze medallists USA.

Great Britain are still into Wednesday's quarter-finals, though, and we'll learn who they'll face once all of the Pool B fixtures are completed.

Paralympic debutant Phil Pratt had another outstanding game for GB whilst Gaz Choudhry excelled with 17 points.

"Whoever we face in the next round we're confident against," GB's Harry Brown tells me.

"We lost today, but we'll learn from this and are all looking forward to the quarter-finals."

    Jody was lost!

All's well that end's well, though and here's Kate and Jody discussing that frantic moment which led to a gold medal.

Six British swimmers are into tonight's finals in Rio - but it might only have been five!

The veteran of the GB team Sascha Kindred, 38, was disqualified from the SM6 200m medley final (23:31) for a technical infringement but was later reinstated after an appeal.

At the other end of the age spectrum to Kindred is 13-year-old Abby Kane and she is into her first Paralympic final - the S13 400m freestyle (21:39 BST).

Ellie Simmonds is now in her third Games and she qualified fastest for the SM6 200m medley (23:39) and will be hoping to claim her fifth career Paralympic gold.

Susie Rodgers (S7 50m butterfly), Alice Tai (S10 100m butterfly) and Andrew Mullen (S5 50m freestyle) complete the GB finalists.

Great Britain's men's team lose for the first time in Brazil but don't worry, they're still through to the quarter finals.

The fast pace of the Americans was just too much for GB to handle as USA often scored on the counter attack in the final quarter to win by 17 points.

GB's Terry Bywater sinks a three pointer as he throws the ball up in frustration.

Never mind Terry, you could get another chance to meet them in the medal matches.

"If it wasn't for getting cancer as a kid and being given a table tennis set to give me something to play with when I was recovering then I would never have been here.

"Four years since silver at London was a long time to wait and there was no guarantee I would ever get the chance to go for gold again - but I'm so proud to win this."

It may not be the end of his medal celebrations in Rio as he returns for the men's team event later in the week.

Reid's GB doubles partner Alfie Hewett also overcame a Frenchman in the third round, beating Nicolas Peifer 7-6 (7-4) 4-6 6-3.

They're now gearing up for the doubles.

In the women's singles, Jordanne Whiley went out at the quarter-final stage. She lost 6-3 6-1 against Diede De Groot of the Netherlands.

The GB men's wheelchair basketball team are already through to the knock-out phase at the Rio Paralympics but round-off their group phase against the USA.

Both sides are undefeated with four wins for all four games so far, so today's fixture will decide who top's the group and ultimately faces a lower-ranked side in tomorrow's quarter-finals.

The USA beat GB to claim bronze at London 2012 and are the favourites, but GB have unearthed a few young exciting talents - like Phil Pratt - since those Games and are serious medal contenders here in Rio.
