Lyon have turned things around in their game at home to Viktoria Plzen. Trailing 1-0 after just three minutes, goals from Gueida Fofana, Alexandre Lacazette and Arnold Mvuemba means they now lead 3-1.

Harry Kane is caught in possession by Ruben Amorim just yards from the edge of his own box and Benfica punish the young striker in the worst way possible. Amorim earns a corner for his team and, from that, Benfica score their second, with the unmarked Luisao heading home from close range.

Benfica's fans creating a wall of noise and understandably so because their team have been untroubled in the last five minutes or so. Tottenham have possession but it's in the middle of the pitch.

Aaron Lennon beautifully controls Harry Kane's pass with his chest and then dances inside before aiming a daisy cutter towards Jan Oblak.

Christian Eriksen does his bit, letting Emmanuel Adebayor loose with a lovely through ball from the edge of the box, but the striker drags his effort wide and it makes us all appreciate Rodrigo's finish a little bit more.

Tottenham, of course, face Arsenal on Sunday so it could be a tough few days for Tim Sherwood and his men if they lose this match. A stop-start, erm, start to this second half with neither side keeping possession with much aplomb.

The players are back on the pitch and a short, sharp shrill from Jonas Eriksson's whistle means the second half is under way.

Ed Gidney:, external I'm fed up of my club being like this. Sherwood was meant to play better football than AVB. I'm not seeing it.

The half-time whistles have blown across Europe and it's currently 1-1 between Lyon and Viktoria Plzen; Anzhi Makhachkala are trailing 1-0 away at AZ Alkmaar, Juventus still lead Fiorentina 1-0 and Real Betis are 1-0 up in Sevilla.
