Joel Campbell is communicating via semaphore, he's so far away from his team-mates. There isn't a white shirt within 45 yards of the lone striker as Costa Rica just sit back and hope that they can see this one out.

The big booming cross into the box is Greece's best bet, and another one from the right ends up on the face of Theofanis Gekas but he can't direct it home. Just run at the Costa Rican defence - they're finished.

Peter McMillan:, external Costa Rica up against it now, down to 10 men in extra time - Greeks will be favourites.

Stephen Holt:, external South American nations used to have a reputation for dodgy keepers but they've produced the two best at this World Cup. Guillermo Ochoa and Keylor Navas.

Greek goalscorer Sokratis Papastathopoulos was praised by German newspaper Bild for driving a Fiat 500 earlier this season. He may well be able to afford something more in keeping with his Dortmund team-mates if he gets Greece into the last eight.

Costa Rica look absolutely wrecked. Five days into a lads' holiday in Benidorm.

If you are just tuning in, Costa Rica took the lead through Fulham forward Bryan Ruiz but then went down to 10 men when defender Oscar Duarte was shown a second booking.

Greece levelled in stoppage time and must now be favourites to win with the extra man...

"This Greece side have experience and they have belief. They needed something here and they got it by just doing that age-old thing of getting the ball in the box. It would not surprise me if they just continued with that into extra-time. I don't think they will be going for penalties. Greece will say OK, let's forget we scored and keep the Costa Rica defence under pressure."

"Jorge Luis Pinto walked over to his players as quickly as he could to try and show a positive attitude. The Costa Rica players do look really tired, as you might expect after playing against a Greece side who have been putting constant balls into the box, with only 10 men.

"They are just happy to get some respite now. They are tired, there is no doubt about it and as soon as the goal went in you could see they had dropped physically and mentally. The manager will have to pick them up."

Costa Rica's huddle is driven on by ex-Derby man Paolo Wanchope, who is earning his coaching spurs. At half-time referee Ben Williams says there will be no drinks, we turn straight around.

There always is a break though.

"Jorge Luis Pinto the manager has been a real credit to Costa Rica with his tactical changes in this World Cup but he has got to make a few new ones now. His side are going to lose this match if they continue to drop deep."

    Half-time break

Is it me or are these breaks between full time and extra time much longer then they used to be?

Heavy legs and heavy hearts as both sets of players look mentally and physically gone. There are massages and consoling words going round both huddles as unused substitutes cajole their team-mates.

Both sides have used all their subs so Giorgos Karagounis, as old as the hills, will have to play the full 120...

"Can you believe it!? Costa Rica got deeper and deeper, as the ball came in they didn't make the challenge, Keylor Navas got a hand on the ball but couldn't stop the rebound.

"The Greek players cannot believe it, they are lying on the floor. The scenes here are incredible. Costa Rica didn't close the game down as well as they could and now look - Greece are in the ascendency after scoring the goal."

    Keylor Navas saves

There are games of football that you genuinely never want to end. This is not one of them but it is serving up a barnstormer of a finish.

What a save! Fulham striker Kostas Mitroglou with a bullet header and Keylor Navas tips it over!

Extraordinary! Just when it looked all over, Giorgos Samaras launches a long ball in from the left, Theofanis Gekas gets in a low shot which Keylor Navas can't hold and defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos is there to bundle in the loose ball from six yards out.

    We will have extra-time!

"Greece are finding space outside of the Costa Rica full-backs. Giorgos Samaras has got chalk on his boots, Johnny Acosta needs to make sure he gets out to cover a little bit earlier.

"Up the other end Bryan Ruiz did exactly what Costa Rica need him to do by just taking the ball into the corner flag and winning a free-kick."

Lazaros Christodoulopoulos beats his man - that's lovely! - but the cut-back is greedily claimed by Costa Rica keeper Keylor Navas.

    That could well be that...
