"Arsenal are in talks to sign Barcelona forward Alexis Sanchez and Newcastle right-back Mathieu Debuchy.

"Their move for 28-year-old France international Debuchy is at an advanced stage but the clubs are yet to agree a fee, with Newcastle understood to be seeking a figure in the region of £10m.

"The Gunners' bid for Sanchez is complicated by Barcelona's pursuit of Liverpool striker Luis Suarez and nothing will be resolved until the Suarez situation is concluded.

"Sanchez will command a fee of around £25m."

Only one man is dominating the headlines here in Brazil as the hosts' World Cup cavalcade prepares to move to Belo Horizonte and the semi-final against Germany on Tuesday - and that is Neymar.

The whole country is still coming to terms with the loss of the player who many here in Brazil believe cannot be replaced, but Chelsea's Willian looks ready-made to step into the breach left behind after Neymar suffered a fractured vertebra after a nasty challenge by Colombia's Juan Zuniga.

Brazil have completed what coach Luiz Felipe Scolari called "the fifth step" but now he must calm the nerves of supporters who have increased expectations as the goal of the World Cup final in the Maracana on Sunday week comes into sight.

The Dutch will be coming up against a mean defence in Salvador as Costa Rica have conceded the joint-fewest goals (two) at the World Cup. Costa Rica are also unbeaten in four World Cup games for the very first time.

Belgium are unbeaten in the 21 games in which goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has played for them and the Chelsea player has fared well against Lionel Messi.

During his season-long loan with Atletico Madrid last season, Courtois faced Barcelona's Messi six times but did not taste defeat or concede a goal to the diminutive Argentinean.

The form helped Atletico to the Spanish title.

  15. Argentina v Belgium (17:00 BST)published at 13:45 British Summer Time 5 July 2014

Argentina will be looking to end a run of three World Cup quarter-final defeats on the spin when they take on Belgium.

The South American side lost to Germany in 2006 and 2010 and were beaten by a Dennis Bergkamp wonder strike for Netherlands in 1998.

But Lionel Messi - considered by many as the world's best player - will play, and Argentina are unbeaten in their last 25 matches with him on the pitch.

"Costa Rica will no doubt try to attack them, because we have seen so far that they play at a high tempo and like to get in the opposition's faces.

"Organisation, fitness and athleticism are all strengths of this Costa Rica side but I still think the Dutch have more quality, and that will take them into the last four."
