    Former Brazil striker Ronaldo has picked Australia midfielder Tim Cahill's stunning volley against the Netherlands as his goal of the tournament.

    Bastian Schweinsteiger, who coach Joachim Low had indicated might be exhausted after playing the last three matches, was not involved in drills on the pitch with his team-mates and instead worked out on an exercise bike in the shade.

    After victory against France, Low said midfielder Schweinsteiger, who had returned from injury just before the finals began, might need a break after playing most of the three previous matches.

    Manuel Neuer has been dubbed "the best goalkeeper in the world" by former Germany stopper Oliver Kahn as he prepares for Tuesday's World Cup semi-final against Brazil.

    Neymar, 22, broke a vertebra in his spine during his side's 2-1 quarter-final victory over Colombia on Friday.

    "I deeply regret the sad injury that Neymar suffered during the match between Brazil and Colombia," he said. "Although I feel that these situations are a normal part of the game, there was no intent to injure, malice nor negligence on my part."

    Real Madrid great Alfredo Di Stefano is in intensive care after suffering a heart attack on Saturday.

    Di Stefano, who turned 88 this week, was taken to the Gregorio Maranon hospital in Madrid after falling ill close to Real's Bernabeu stadium.

    He has had several health problems in recent years and in 2005 was fitted with a pacemaker after heart surgery.
