Blackburn Rovers defender Jack O'Connell has joined Rochdale on a four-month loan.

The 20-year-old had a successful loan spell at the League One club last season.

Defender Sebastian Coates has joined Sunderland on a season-long loan from Liverpool. The 23-year-old Uruguayan joined the Reds in August 2011 but has made just 24 appearances, scoring two goals.

No further developments on Alvaro Negredo's proposed loan move from Manchester City to Valencia. Would City be wise to let him go?
