    Defender Sebastian Coates has joined Sunderland on a season-long loan from Liverpool. The 23-year-old Uruguayan joined the Reds in August 2011 but has made just 24 appearances, scoring two goals.

    There are three managerial vacancies in the Championship at the moment and two of those clubs - Leeds and Watford - are reportedly interested in former Brighton boss Oscar Garcia.

    Garcia is available after leaving Maccabi Tel Aviv and is said to favour a move to Vicarage Road.

    However it is unlikely that there will be any update on the situation at Watford today.

    No further developments on Alvaro Negredo's proposed loan move from Manchester City to Valencia. Would City be wise to let him go?

    Admittedly he had not scored in the Premier League since January, but before then he was banging them in for fun, with 19 goals in all competitions. Plus, with Radamel Falcao not heading to the Etihad Stadium and Sergio Aguero's injury record, they are not exactly overloaded with strikers...

    BBC Sport's Saj Chowdhury: "West Ham are close to completing a deal for Marseille midfielder Morgan Amalfitano. The 29-year-old was on loan at West Brom last season, where he scored four goals in 31 appearances.

    "The Frenchman was punished by his Ligue 1 parent club earlier this season when he ignored a request from new coach Marcelo Bielsa to train away from the senior squad."
