A TV replay system allowing coaches to challenge a referee's decision may be trialled next year, Fifa president Sepp Blatter has announced.

Speaking via video link at Manchester's Soccerex, the Swiss, 78, said he wanted coaches to be allowed at least one challenge per half.

He revealed the trial could happen at next year's Fifa Under-20 World Cup.

"We can try in a youth competition, an Under-20, like next year when we are in New Zealand," he said.

"It can only be done where there is television coverage of all the matches."

What do we think of that?

Andrew K: As a Liverpool fan I went to Roy Hodgson's last game as manager, away at Blackburn (we lost 3-1). The worst manager we've had for many years. Why will he better with England?

From Jenni: The power of the media never ceases to amaze me. In the build-up to the World Cup the expectations surrounding this Engalnd side were low and the support for Roy Hodgson was sky-high, as they agreed we didn't have a good enough squad to challenge the very best. Fast forward a few months and nothing has changed in regards to expectations, but suddenly the media have turned on Rodgson and he's no longer seen as being good enough. What changed?

From Andrew: Huge night ahead for England and Roy Hodgson in particular. I can't be the only one thinking that a defeat wouldn't be that bad a result from an English point of view if it meant that it got rid of Hodgson from the England management setup. He's clearly not the right man for the job.

The Swiss are a handy outfit then - but who are the key components, the real danger men, the knife and corkscrew in the army knife?

Front and centre is sometime Bayern Munich winger Xherdan Shaqiri. The 22-year-old is built like a powerlifter and could well bench press England's back four into submission tonight.

He scored a hat-trick at the World Cup and already has 38 caps to his name. Can Phil Jones and co shut him out tonight?

Manager Roy Hodgson insists England's immediate future will not be shaped by their opening Euro 2016 qualifier against Switzerland tonight.

The game is England's first competitive match since their tame World Cup exit.

Hodgson said: "We have to play well and do well here. If the result costs us we have to make sure we learn from losing the battle and win the war.

"Winning this game does not make a great team in 2016. Neither does losing it make us a poor team in 2016."

"England's road to redemption after the World Cup failure in Brazil starts here in Basel against Switzerland - arguably the toughest fixture in their Euro 2016 qualifying group.

"The game has certainly captured the imagination of the locals, with Switzerland supporters gathered outside the St Jakob-Park three hours before kick-off holding up signs pleading for spare tickets.

"England's fans, as usual, are here in force and have commandeered one corner of this atmospheric arena.

"Manager Roy Hodgson gives a first international start to Aston Villa's Fabian Delph while Liverpool's Jordan Henderson has recovered from the ankle knock he sustained in training last night and Danny Welbeck comes in for injured Daniel Sturridge up front."

It's fair to say expectations are pretty low as far as England are concerned.

A poor World Cup showing, a half-empty Wembley to watch last week's dull friendly against Norway and the prospect of an equally dull Euro 2016 qualifying campaign to come have left Roy Hodgson and co fighting a wave of criticism.

Tonight could well be England's toughest game in Group E. Are they up to the task?
