"Anything other than a stately walk in the park for Jose Mourinho's boys, and I'll be amazed."

That's what I said at 17:48 and for once a prediction has come off. Hardly earth-shattering, admittedly, but they don't come along too often.

Chelsea to go all the way? They certainly look the Premier League's best bet...

  2. FULL-TIMEpublished at 21:35 British Summer Time 21 October 2014

Eden Hazard almost has a hat-trick after a brilliant mazy run - but that's full-time. At least four Maribor players ask the Belgian for his shirt at full-time. That's how good he was.

  3. NEW RECORDpublished at 21:34 British Summer Time 21 October 2014

That's 37 goals in the Champions League tonight - a record for one night...

Tim Arstall:, external Hazard must have ice running through his veins with penalties like that. No hesitation, just stares down the keeper.

Aaron Buxton:, external Hazard has been brilliant tonight but the one player who just seems to get better every time I see him is Willian.

Aashish:, external Good training session for Chelsea before the Manchester United match.

  5. GOALpublished at 21:32 British Summer Time 21 October 2014

What a goal this is! Nathan Ake picks up the run of Eden Hazard with a quarterback style pass over the top, Hazard's touch to bring it down is fantastic, and he cuts inside the last man before curling into the roof of the net.

Chelsea on for their biggest ever Champions League win.

Ajax have hit a late goal to set up a grandstand finish at the Nou Camp...

Chelsea haven't had much defending to do since the half-hour mark so credit to John Terry and then Kurt Zouma, who both react well to block low shots in a melee in the box. Zouma hasn't put a foot wrong tonight.

Shohidur Rahman:, external One of the most horrific goalkeeping performances I've ever seen from De Sanctis tonight. Feel for Roma.

Branislav Ivanovic has got forward well all night and has another cross cut out at the near post. Chelsea are down to walking pace now.

  11. Postpublished at 21:24 British Summer Time 21 October 2014

Arjen Robben cuts in from the flank again and feeds second-half substitute Franck Ribery who cheekily chips the ball over Roma goalkeeper Morgan De Sanctis and into the net.

Before kick-off Xherdan Shaqiri is introduced and he pounces on a spill from the home goalkeeper to score a seventh with his first touch. There are still 10 minutes remaining.

BBC Radio 5 live at Stamford Bridge

"You have to be an exceptional player to score like that. You are told to look at the goal as the goal doesn't move. Hazard does the complete opposite and waits for the goalkeeper to move.

"The goalkeeper moves out of the way and then you don't even have to hit it that hard.

"Interesting that Hazard took it though and not Drogba. It shows that Chelsea have this great team ethic."

On youth product Dominic Solanke coming on for Chelsea:

"We talk about players coming through the youth system. Chelsea produce a lot of players for other clubs through theirs.

"They have fantastic players and Dominic Solanke is now fortunate he has now got a chance in the first team.

"But let's remember, a lot of Manchester United players did that for a long time. A lot of players came through their system but didn't play for United."

That's the last 'I'm old/these players are young' mention of the night. Promise.
