"Remy looks like he has hurt himself. He has scored and then winced instantly. It's maybe his groin.

"But Chelsea switched the play, Remy got isolated, cut inside and shot. A fantastic finish into the bottom corner."

  2. GREAT SAVE!published at 20:02 British Summer Time 21 October 2014

In Barcelona, Neymar profits from a Lionel Mess run and pass to curl the Catalan club into the lead against Ajax. A smart finish from 15 yards by the Brazilian. You can read more about it in our live text commentary of that game.

And in Italy, Roma trail Bayern Munich early on. Arjen Robben cuts inside from the right to fire left footed across goal. It is vintage Robben - you know where he is going to put the ball but no-one can do anything about it.

What a ball! John Terry plays the role of Cesc Fabregas, picking out a cracking pass from the halfway line to send Loic Remy away. Remy may have been just offside, but he cuts inside and curls home a low shot from 20 yards.

Remy then grimaces in pain, has he popped his groin in scoring that goal?

On the potential penalty for Chelsea:

"Oscar was unfortunate there as there was definitely a hand on his shoulder and he was off balance. The referee definitely could have given that as penalty."

Kritt Normsaskul:, external Credit to Maribor for not sitting back and getting men forward. This could be a good game.

Steve Johnson:, external Signing Fabregas was a master stroke. He's the general of the midfield and this game will be won by Chelsea from the midfield.

  8. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 19:56 British Summer Time 21 October 2014

Better from Chelsea though as they work the ball out to Filipe Luis on the left, he pops it inside to Oscar, he tries an overhead kick but goes to ground with an arm on his shoulder - penalty? Referee Danny Makkelie is unmoved.

  9. Postpublished at 19:54 British Summer Time 21 October 2014

This is good stuff from Maribor, playing attractive football and piling bodies forwards. This could be a sterner test than Chelsea usually get at home...

  10. CLOSE!published at 19:52 British Summer Time 21 October 2014

That is a chance! Maribor have lined up with two up front and they throw men forwards on their first break. They work it out wide well and when the cross comes in, Damjan Bohar heads over the bar. Great chance!

On Chelsea being without injured striker Diego Costa:

"You have got Loic Remy, who comes in this evening, and you have got Didier Drogba. They can survive.

"That midfield area is so strong. They have such a strength in depth in their squad. They can at least last for a couple of months without Diego Costa, if that is the way it has to be."

  12. Postpublished at 19:49 British Summer Time 21 October 2014

The Maribor fans making a great din as Chelsea keep the ball as if they own it. Branislav Ivanovic bombs on down the right and gets clear - but his cross is tame. Cesc Fabgregas then pings one into the feet of Loic Remy but he's not Diego Costa and the move falls down.

Ash Over:, external Dortmund and Atletico both won their respective leagues and CL final places on a shoestring.

    Manuel PellegriniImage source, AP

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini: "I think maybe we didn't have the pace in the second half, and didn't move the ball as we did in the first half. We didn't have one chance to score and then they scored that penalty.

"I don't want to talk about the referee.

"Everyone must know that football is for 95 minutes, we are away against a difficult team and they drew the game but I don't think that is just a revelation for the Champions League.

"We have nine points more to play for. After we have played them we will see who has more."

G S Webster:, external Oh come on, we all love these soft decisions as it gives us all something to talk about. As long as it's not our team.

Nick Kelly:, external It's a mental block in the Champions League for City.. they have so many quality players but just don't believe they can do it.

Agubata Odinaka:, external With Aguero, Toure and Kompany what more can they ask for? City have the players so the blame lies squarely with Pellegrini.

John Caley from Berkshire: With decent officials, that's 3-1 to City and a red card for diving for Doumbia (3 times!).

Nick from Manchester: Everyone going on about City 'buying success', name me a team that hasn't bought success in the last 20 years.
