OK, here is the score for this evening. I'm going to be covering the Parma v AC Milan match and bringing you all the main action from the Stadio Ennio Tardini. I am also going to be doing a bit of a round-up of what has been going on around Europe this weekend in a footballing sense. And some of this weekend's stuff deserves revisiting as there have been some pretty interesting tales. And once all that's done, I'm off home and you can entertain yourselves.

There's five minutes until kick-off so here are some results from today...

You can forgive Milan for being a bit fired up for this match. Last season, Parma did them twice, winning 3-2 at the Stadio Ennio Tardini and then following that up with an even more impressive 4-2 victory at the San Siro. However, Roberto Donadoni's side didn't start this season too well, losing 1-0 at Cesena. Basically, what I'm saying is that tonight's match could be quite interesting, if you like score-settling shenanigans. My money is on Milan.

And here is the Parma starting XI: Mirante; Ristovski, Felipe, Lucarelli, De Ceglie; Acquah, Lodi, Jorquera; Ghezzal, Cassano, Belfodil.

The stand-out name in that XI is Antonio Cassano, once seen as Italy's potential saviour but is now looking to rekindle his once stellar career at the Stadio Ennio Tardini. He counts AC Milan amongst his former clubs, along with Real Madrid, Roma and Inter.

To English football fans, there are a couple of immediately recognisable names on that AC Milan teamsheet to satisfy the ex-Premier League quota. In defence, there is former Chelsea defender Alex (so no prisoners will be taken) and in midfield there is ex-Manchester City man Nigel de Jong (to finish anyone off that Alex misses!). De Jong is joined in the middle by ex-Portsmouth and Sunderland man Sulley Muntari.

  6. Donadoni v Inzaghipublished at 19:24 British Summer Time 14 September 2014

If you love your past Italian playing legends this match is an absolute delight on the managerial front as it pits Roberto Donadoni - he of the curly mullet at Italia 90 - against Filippo Inzaghi, the centre-parted, poacher supreme. All we need now is Toto Schillaci to ref the game, Nessun Dorma over the tannoy and James Richardson sat by a piazza with some papers and we are sorted.

I am of course kidding, there's still stuff to talk about, even without old Fernando on the scene. AC Milan are one of the established giants of Italian football, with 18 league titles to their name and seven European Cups under their belt. However, they've had a bit of a tough time of it of late. They finished a disappointing eighth last season, with managers Massimiliano Allegri and Clarence Seedorf both losing their jobs. Current boss Filippo Inzaghi (yes, that Filippo Inzaghi) got off to a decent start this season with victory over Lazio two weeks ago. Today, they travel to Parma and are favourites to make it two wins out of two.

I'm going to be honest with you, this Euro footy live text was largely going to be about Fernando Torres' new start at AC Milan; his possible rebirth as a footballer after a torrid, largely goalless spell at Chelsea. I would have delved into the psychology of a fallen great, the burden of a hefty price tag and the search for football redemption.

But Torres has only gone and got himself injured in training and won't be involved against Parma this evening, so all that has gone out of the window. So... Parma v AC Milan then... anyone got any chat?!
