Manchester City arrive at a sunny Villa Park looking for a win to put some pressure on leaders Chelsea, and hoping to find some form after a sluggish start to the defence of their title. A clean sheet would help Manuel Pellegrini's men - they have not managed one of those in the Premier League or Europe since their opening game of the new campaign - but to do that they need to avoid a repeat of the disastrous defending that gifted Aston Villa victory here at a similar stage of last season.

Sean Cole:, external How about some credit now for Burnley? Fantastic result seeing as we had to start with five defenders, three wingers and two strikers.

Jonathan Grieve:, external Bit of fight in the team and the players are with the manager but the fact remains Newcastle NEED to win games.

Roy Sinar:, external Not all doom and gloom for Albion when a Champions League side has to scrape past us at home. How much did Liverpool spend?

Ahmer Murad:, external Not entirely convincing but plenty of positives. I'm sure Liverpool will build from here. Defence a major worry, though.

Nick from Burnley: Say what you want about Burnley's lack of quality, depth and experience (all obvious and easy judgments) you cant knock their team spirit, never say die attitude & top management. These points will add up come next year!

Chris Clarke: Do you think Alan Pardew has been watching The Producers? Put out a poor team and guarantee yourself the sack and a huge payout, then the players mess it up by scraping a result that keeps him in the job.

"It was a very much needed win for Liverpool. You can see how much it means to the players, who are punching the air in delight. It is never easy coming off the back of a Champions League game. West Brom contributed to the match but I think Liverpool just about deserved to win it."
