I really hope Craig Robinson's dad had set the video to record, because Warrington have only gone and done it. A corner comes in from the left and the big defender flicks the ball in at the near post. Sheer delight for Robinson, who is the brother of MK Dons manager Karl.

Warrington win a corner. The lads in yellow pile forward. "Dad, have you got this recording in case we score?"

  3. CLOSE!published at 20:01 Greenwich Mean Time 7 November 2014

Warrington forward Scott Metcalfe is proving a menace early on as he fires a shot into the side-netting, then almost chases down a loose ball in the penalty area before the ball is smothered by Exeter keeper Christy Pym.

"It is all about Exeter's attitude. If they do things right and be professional, they should win the game. They play four leagues above them for a reason."

An early mistake from David Noble betrays some nerves in the visiting ranks. I've been told Gazza once rated Noble has one of the best players he's ever played alongside. Yes, that Gazza.

Peter Reid, brother of Warrington boss Shaun, is managing in the Indian Super League at the moment, but he found time to send his sibling a good luck message for this evening's game. And Ian Rush even sent his best wishes.

What more could Warrington ask for?

Incidentally, Exeter certainly know what it's like to be on the wrong end of a giantkilling having been knocked out by Curzon Ashton, who played at the same level as Warrington, in the first round in 2008.

However, it's not that long ago they took Manchester United to a replay, in January 2005. In that replay, Grecians defender Scott Hiley nutmegged Cristiano Ronaldo. One now runs a B&B just outsider Exeter. The other is one of the best players in the world.

Exeter boss Paul Tisdale on BBC Two: "This is a game we have to win. We are under no illusions we have been selected for this match because everyone wants Warrington to win and create an upset.

"The beauty of the FA Cup is it is unpredictable but we will do our best to make sure we in. It is an atmospheric ground but we want a good journey home."

    Warrington v Exeter City

And here's more from Warrington Town boss Shaun Reid, speaking on BBC Two: "There are TV cameras, press everywhere, just a normal week...... This is what the FA Cup is about.

"I have been banging on to the players that this happens once in a lifetime, grasp it and go and enjoy it. This is the best club competition in the world.

"The aim is the Football League for us and the amount of people here tonight shows what a big club this is."

There are exactly 100 places between these two sides in the league pyramid. Warrington are managed by Peter Reid's brother Shaun, who is confident of causing a cupset.

Speaking to BBC Sport, Reid said: "Since the draw was made, my feet haven't really touched the ground. I'll be glad when we get to Friday and we can do what we're in it to do, which is play a football match.

"I can't even begin to explain what it's meant to the football club. It's the most amazing cup competition ever."

BBC Radio Devon sports presenter James Vickery is as well placed as anybody to give us the lowdown on Exeter: "A PFA loan, a transfer embargo and a lengthy injury list made it a pretty tough start to the season for Exeter City. The Grecians really struggled to get started, with their first victory coming in mid-September at Cambridge.

"That victory seemed to be the catalyst for an improved run of form with Paul Tisdale's side winning five of their last eight league matches - a run of results which has seen them climb off the foot of League Two up to a more comfortable mid-table position.

"City take pride in playing a delicate passing game with goals normally scored from patient build-up play. Striker Tom Nichols will be one to watch - the 21-year-old has scored twice in the last two games after coming on as a sub. Exeter-born midfielder Liam Sercombe is also a real force going forward. He has a real knack of creating chances out of nothing and is never afraid to launch a shot at goal from distance."

Exeter manager Paul TisdaleImage source, PA

Quick question... who is the trendiest manager in British football?

Jose Mourinho? Perhaps Rochdale's Keith Hill? Or what about Exeter's Paul Tisdale?

Now the second-longest serving manager behind Arsene Wenger, Tisdale is always immaculately turned out thanks to his close friendship with the founder of Ted Baker, Ray Kelvin.

So don't be surprised if Tisdale is wearing a suit jacket, a flat cap and a cravat tonight. The Grecians boss is the Gok Wan of football fashion. Or something like that.
