"Goals have clearly been at a premium for Aston Villa, but they have won at both Stoke and Liverpool and will feel confident on the counter attack. Their morale will also be boosted by the return from injury of Christian Benteke, who came off the bench in the last game and could make his first start since rupturing an Achilles tendon while training in early April.

"His absence has been keenly felt, with the team scoring only nine goals in the 13 league games he missed and drawing a blank in just over half of them.

"Everton travel to face Lille in the Europa League on Thursday, but of greater concern is getting their league season out of first gear. One win from the opening seven games and just a single point at home so far isn't the start they were expecting."

"John Terry is set to match Frank Lampard's record 429 Premier League games for the club this weekend, and will lead Chelsea out for an astonishing 500th time. Whatever your thoughts on the former England captain who divides opinion so hugely, it's a milestone that deserves recognition.

"If Palace can repeat their feat of last March and beat Chelsea in successive league games for the first time in over 32 years, it will be Neil Warnock's 50th win as Palace manager over his two spells in charge."

"What is there not to like about Sean Dyche? Speaking at a sports conference last week, he was asked whether it was Burnley's spirit that was the key to their success. "Don't be silly," he responded with a look of complete seriousness. "It's all me." I can still hear the laughter of the audience.

"How can you crack jokes when your team hasn't won any of seven games since being promoted to the Premier League?

"Well, you can when, like Dyche, you keep everything in perspective. He knows football is "the maddest business" in which "nonsensical decisions are made all the time".

"As for West Ham, I love Sam Allardyce's new signings, especially Diafra Sakho and Enner Valencia. There are goals aplenty."

"It's difficult to look ahead to this fixture without recalling the most recent meeting between the sides, the dramatic FA Cup final in May.

"Arsenal's eventual FA Cup triumph meant the club's Annual General Meeting on Thursday was less heated than in recent years. But that's not to say all shareholders are completely convinced by what Arsene Wenger is doing.

"This is a key time for Arsenal - if they continue to drop points, and with all these injuries, then the title could soon be beyond them. The defeat by Chelsea last time out extended their poor record against fellow title contenders."

"It has been a very entertaining game. City have dominated possession and should have killed off the game by now. Tottenham will be happy to go in at half-time just 2-1 down because it could have been worse. Although when they get forward they look a threat, and have had four very good chances.

"City will have to up the tempo in the second half because Spurs do look dangerous, and Spurs have to work harder without the ball."

Phil from Chelmsford: I've never seen a penalty decision like the first. Because it wasn't a penalty, I guess.

Almost three for Cardiff. Peter Whittingham whips in a swirling free-kick, which is missed by about five Forest heads, and allows Cardiff team-mate Sean Morrison to stick his forehead on the ball. Forest keeper Karl Darlow comes to the rescue with an alert stop.

Edward Herbert:, external Spurs' defending is, as always, pitiful.

Chris Goodall:, external Tottenham's defending is so reckless - they're in danger of chucking the game away.

Chris Baldwin:, external Spurs need to get to half time only one goal behind. If City get the third this score could be anything, the way they're playing.

Manchester City hit Tottenham on the counter and Sergio Aguero plays in Jesus Navas who brings a strange save out of Hugo Lloris in the Spurs goal. The work keeps on coming for the Frenchman as he gets down low to save a James Milner strike.

It's ying and yang for Tottenham at the moment. Their skipper Younes Kaboul is having a nightmare, in the words of Chris Waddle, at the back while at the other end, Christian Eriksen looks like creating something from nothing every time he picks up the ball.

"Tottenham are still showing glimpses of threat going forward. When they get the ball they seem to come to life, but when they have not got the ball they are playing too deep, are not getting tight enough and are not playing as a team."

Spurs have got a fair bit of class in the final third today - Christian Eriksen taking out two defenders with some silky skills in the penalty box. He picks out Erik Lamela who has a shot blocked by a crowd of three City defenders before Ryan Mason lets fly from the rebound and brings another quality save out of Joe Hart.

"Cries of 'Sergio, Sergio' ring around Etihad Stadium but the Manchester City striker should really be celebrating a hat-trick by now. You have to think he will get more chances to complete his treble though - James Milner and Jesus Navas are finding far too much room on the flanks when City come forward and Spurs are struggling to pick up Aguero and Silva in the middle. The visitors are far more open than you would expect from a Mauricio Pochettino team."

Etienne Capoue brings down David Silva in full flow with a nasty-looking flick down the midfielder's foot. Spurs are just one step behind at the moment as they chase the game. City appear to have found top gear.

Back under way in the Welsh capital. Forest boss Stuart Pearce makes a tactical switch after that first-half defensive shambles - left-back Dan Harding replacing Eric Lichaj for the second half.

A few jeers from the Tottenham end when Jesus Navas appears to tread on the back of Danny Rose's foot. Thankfully the full-back is OK to continue. Moments later, Spurs defender Eric Dier is booked for bringing down Gael Clichy on the halfway line.

Janniky:, external This is turning into Sergio v Hugo...

Peter Collins:, external Spurs, foul them OUTSIDE the box, not inside!

Liam:, external Lampard was offside for one and another was a soft penalty. Typical Spurs luck, mixed with typical Spurs defending.
