Former Blackburn Rovers striker on BBC Radio 5 live

"West Ham deservedly 1-0 up and have created other chances. The two centre defenders for Manchester City seem very nervous. West Ham can be very happy at how uncomfortable they have made it for Man City."

"West Ham have threatened constantly but Manchester City have lacked cutting edge and lacked organisation at the back."

Never bet against Manchester City though as David Silva crosses powerfully, hits Sergio Aguero in chest and Adrian pokes out a foot to clear.

Former Blackburn Rovers striker on BBC Radio 5 live

"First of all the set piece from West Ham was incredible. Manchester City didn't expect it and the home side are all over Man City at the moment. It was a great cross by Amalfitano but Sakho couldn't connect."

  5. CLOSE!published at 13:32 British Summer Time 25 October 2014

I tell you what, West Ham are looking the most likely to score here as Mark Noble sneaks a clever free-kick through the City back line, Morgan Amalfitano crosses across the face of goal but Diafra Sakho can't make the final touch. So close.

Bobby, Newcastle: It goes without saying that West Ham so far are proving to be one of the most exciting teams to watch in the Premier League this season. Oh how times have changed!

Tony Cocozza: I've been an ardent Hammer for 40 years, and win or lose today, this is the most exciting team we've had for many years. Come on you Irons!

  9. CLOSE!published at 13:27 British Summer Time 25 October 2014

West Ham really are playing a brand of football that is very easy on the eye. They have certainly been as good as, if not better than, Manchester City in this half.

The runs of Enner Valencia and Diafra Sakho are pulling the City defence all over and you would not bet against the home side getting a second as Valencia shoots just wide from Aaron Cresswell's low cross.

John Pierce:, external Looks like Manchester City are still defrosting from their midweek adventure to Russia.

Andy Szpuk:, external Hammers nailing it at the moment, but expect City to claw their way back in, probably countersink a bag of goals.

Danny:, external Did Morgan Amalfitano get booked for jumping in the crowd? Should be red as he is already booked. Apply the rules!

Having seen a few shots since, Danny, it looks like Amalfitano went in to retrieve his team-mate Enner Valencia. Not sure a) how Valencia ended up there and b) what the protocol is, if Amalfitano was not celebrating.

Glad to see the cheers have dissipated every time the vanishing spray comes out to mark out the line for a wall prior to free-kicks. Martin Atkinson brings out his can for a Jesus Navas free-kick. It is hardly worth bothering with as West Ham form up just a one man ball, but Navas's ball into the box comes to nothing anyway.

Good, one touch passing by Manchester City on the edge of the West Ham area looks promising but ends disappointingly as Sergio Aguero sends a dipping effort from distance wide following Yaya Toure's lay-off.

Ben Goodwin:, external So far since joining Mancheter City Eliaquim Mangala looks even shakier than Mamadou Sakho did when he first joined Liverpool.

Paul Heyman Guy:, external When City go behind is when they get their engine up and truly running! Or that's what I hope!

Miracle Roach:, external There's no space for Andy Carroll in this West Ham team.

    Jason Roberts
Former Blackburn Rovers striker on BBC Radio 5 live

"That was actually a difficult chance for Downing. He had to generate the power and really throw his head at it. They are starting to win the second ball now West Ham. They are not afraid to throw the ball in there and make sure everyone buys into it."

Good stat for West Ham fans this, but you feel both teams still have goals in them in this game.

Some lovely exchanging of passes from Manchester City ends with Sergio Aguero almost putting David Silva through, but his touch rebounds off Aaron Cresswell and into the hands of Adrian in the West Ham goal. At the other end, Stewart Downing plants a header fractionally over the bar.

Tom Davies:, external Re: Alex (see 13 mins). Sergio Aguero is a top striker. If he's in a good position he will shoot. And I wouldn't have it any other way.

Manchester City almost respond immediately when Edin Dzeko smashes a shot just over from a corner at the near post. Good start to this game.

Goalless at the break but it shouldn't be.

Millwall keeper David Forde made a magnificent double-save, parrying Craig Noone's volley then leaping to his feet to block Adam Le Fondre from six yards. Great save but Le Fondre should have broken the net.

Just before the break Millwall almost went in front themselves but a vicious effort from former Celtic and Middlesbrough man Scott McDonald missed by a whisker.

Hard to call how this one will pan out, Millwall's direct style starting to wind Cardiff up.
