  5. Goal of the WSL season

All evening we've been asking you who you think scored the best goal in this year's Women's Super League - and there's a pretty clear winner.

Toni Duggan comes out on top for her stunning volley against Chelsea on the final day of the season, taking 47.7% of the vote. A worthy winner - and not a bad day all-round for the Manchester City attacker.

From Andy in Armagh: I can't be the only one who's glad to see the end of Arsenal ladies' winning trophy after trophy. Finally we are seeing some competition and variety in women's football.

  13. Post update

    Arsenal 0-1 Manchester City

Bravery from City goalkeeper Karen Bardsley as she comes out to punch a cross clear, colliding with Freda Ayisi in a head-to-head clash. Could be a lengthy stoppage here as both players look groggy.

  14. INJURY TIME

    Arsenal 0-1 Manchester City

There are FOUR MINUTES added on. Time for a rewrite?

  16. Post update

    Arsenal 0-1 Manchester City

Yaya Toure-style from Jill Scott, outpowering a marker in midfield and then stepping on the gas to glide through the middle. Great stride, past the last defender but then a heavy touch takes it away and the chance is gone.

That would have wrapped it all up...

  17. Post update

    Arsenal 0-1 Manchester City

Into the final five minutes, and it's the blue shirts of Manchester City who remain on top. They've impressed in the second half, and are closing in on that first trophy.

  19. HITS THE WOODWORK

    Arsenal 0-1 Manchester City

Steph Houghton to take - drills it over the wall! Arsenal keeper Emma Byrne just about gets a fingertip to it and pushes it against the crossbar, what a hit from the England defender.

  20. Post update

Tonight's attendance is 3,697 - and they are all hoping for more goals as Jill Scott wins a free-kick on the brink of the box.

  21. Post update

    Arsenal 0-1 Manchester City

Lovely feet from Toni Duggan, who beats two defenders before working the ball back on to her left foot and forcing Emma Byrne into action. Arsenal make a change with 19-year-old striker Freda Ayisi added to the attack.

  22. FULL-TIME

Bristol Academy 2-1 Raheny (Agg 6-1)

BBC Sport's Caroline Chapman reports: "Bristol have secured the glamour tie they'd hoped for: a last-16 meeting with Barcelona in the Champions League.

"They were the better side against a hard-working Raheny and, after a poor first half, showed the goal-scoring potential that was evident in their first-leg rout.

"Just the small matter of the three-time cup and league winners from Spain next. No problemo."

Arsenal have won this cup every time it's been played but they need to find a goal soon if they are to keep that dream alive. City are closing in on a first honour.

  25. Post update

    Arsenal 0-1 Manchester City

BBC Sport's Tony Leighton at Adams Park: "City have produced the only moments of excitement in the second half and Arsenal can hardly complain about going behind - well-worked goal, fine cross and an equally good header."

    Arsenal 0-1 Manchester City

Former England forward Sue Smith on sports extra

"Now we'll see a real test for Arsenal. Can they respond? They've got the experience to come back into the game and to change it. Manchester City need to keep the ball and be composed."

  29. GOAL

Arsenal 0-1 Manchester City - Isobel Christiansen

Deadlock broken! City have been so much better since the break and take the lead with 17 minutes remaining. Jill Scott carries it forward before finding Krystle Johnston on the right, she whips a cracking ball into the goalmouth and Isobel Christiansen gets ahead of team-mate Toni Duggan to head home. High, hard and handsome.

    Arsenal, over to you...

  30. Post update

    Arsenal 0-0 Manchester City

Kelly Smith fires in a free-kick which is well watched by Karen Bardsley, who makes the save. Smith looks the most likely to make anything happen.

    M. Bojinov: No complaints despite a boring final so far. I've paid more than £50 to watch men's matches that were worse.

  32. Post update

    Arsenal 0-0 Manchester City

City defender Steph Houghton takes the free-kick and hits it brilliantly, great strike from 35 yards and it forces Arsenal keeper Emma Byrne into action.

Is there a goal out there? Anyone?

  33. YELLOW CARD

    Arsenal 0-0 Manchester City

First booking of the game and it's a cruncher of a challenge from Arsenal defender Niamh Fahey, two footed on Jill Scott and a stonewall yellow card. You've seen reds handed out for less...

  34. Post update

    Arsenal 0-0 Manchester City

BBC Sport's Tony Leighton at Adams Park: "Arsenal bring on Smith, who slots in behind striker Danielle Carter, with Jordan Nobbs dropping into a holding midfield role. Can Kelly deliver? She needs to raise this game."

Here we go. Kelly Smith is on for Yukari Kinga - the Arsenal legend is on, can she add some more magic? If ever the game needed her, this is it...

Paula Radtke replaces Emma Lipman for City.

  37. Post update

    Arsenal 0-0 Manchester City

BBC Sport's Tony Leighton at Adams Park: "The crowd here remains highly enthusiastic, but the game remains highly disappointing with little quality being shown by either side."

  38. Post update

    Arsenal 0-0 Manchester City

    Steph Houghton and Rachel Yankey

Caz is getting all the goals. Ashton Gate is where the party's at. We are at the hour mark in High Wycombe where it's been more high farce than high class...

  39. GOAL

Bristol Academy 2-1 Raheny (Agg 6-1)

BBC Sport's Caroline Chapman reports: "Pearl Slattery pops up with a downward header from a free-kick to get Raheny off the mark in the Champions League.

"It's likely to be a mere consolation for the visitors but it's sent the small contingent of Irish fans into a frenzy."

    Arsenal 0-0 Manchester City

Former England forward Sue Smith on sports extra

"Toni Duggan didn't anticipate that at all - I just don't think she was expecting Emma Byrne to miss it."

  42. Post update

    Arsenal 0-0 Manchester City

Get on the end of that! Fantastic ball in from Krystle Johnston, the City winger flashes it across the face of goal and Toni Duggan can't quite get on the end of it. Arsenal keeper Emma Byrne was not convincing at her near post.

  43. Post update

    Arsenal 0-0 Manchester City

Arsenal now looking to stretch the Sky Blue defence, as left-back Emma Mitchell finds space on the flank but again her touch is not good enough to take her in.

We could be here all night at this rate...

  44. Post update

    Arsenal 0-0 Manchester City

BBC Sport's Tony Leighton at Adams Park: "If the Gunners are going to win this they may have to bring on substitute Kelly Smith, quite comfortably their best finisher. City will only win the game if they can get Toni Duggan on the ball and running at the Gunners' defence."

  45. GOAL

Bristol Academy 2-0 Raheny (Agg 6-0)

BBC Sport's Caroline Chapman reports: "Angharad James finishes from a tight angle inside the box to make it 2-0 on the night and, crucially, 6-0 on aggregate to Bristol.

"We're going to have to write out the score with letters and brackets soon...."

  46. Post update

    Arsenal 0-0 Manchester City

Both goalkeepers seem incapable of keeping the ball in play, shanking clearances out into the stands. City start at a high tempo and win an early corner. Can they find a way through?

  47. KICK-OFF

    Arsenal 0-0 Manchester City

    Here we go...

  48. Post update

    Arsenal 0-0 Manchester City

Arsenal's hopes of a fourth straight Continental Cup rest on the next 45 minutes. They were undoubtedly the better side in that first half, can they find a way past City keeper Karen Bardsley? You just wonder if Kelly Smith can still come off the bench to change the game.

Here come the sides, second half is here.

  49. Post update

Bristol v Barcelona. A clash of cultures...

  50. GOAL

Bristol Academy 1-0 Raheny (Agg 5-0)

BBC Sport's Caroline Chapman reports: "Surely Bristol Academy have put the result beyond doubt now?

"Nikki Watts - the Vixens' star player tonight - weaves through the Irish defence and tees up Spain international Natalia who coolly finishes past the keeper.

"Bristol are now 30 minutes away from making the final 16 of the Champions League for the first time in their history, and a mouth-watering tie against Barcelona."

  53. Post update

    Arsenal 0-0 Manchester City

Former England forward Sue Smith on sports extra

"Karen Bardsley has kept Manchester City in the game with two vital games. She's justifying her place and showing why she was brought back in for this game.

"I think Manchester City will be the happier of the two teams because they could have been behind, but their manager might not be quite so satisfied as Arsenal have dominated."

    Arsenal 0-0 Manchester City

Jill Scott battles with Niamh Fahey

City ending the half on top, which, considering the state of their early play, is saying something. There is a huge lack of quality on display from both sides though as City waste a free-kick in a good area by aimlessly chipping it into the mixer.

  59. Post update

    Arsenal 0-0 Manchester City

Unlucky Toni Duggan. The City number nine times her run well to beat the offside trap but she is flagged anyway, much to her annoyance.

  60. Post update

    Arsenal 0-0 Manchester City

Former England forward Sue Smith on sports extra

"Danielle Carter was through on goal and I thought she might have tried to curl it into the top corner. She just tried to poke it past Karen Bardsley and the keeper makes a fantastic save."

  61. GREAT SAVE!

    Arsenal 0-0 Manchester City

Awful defending again from Manchester City, they are an absolute shambles at the back as a throw-in is allowed to bounce past two City defenders and Danielle Carter is on goal.

The ball is running away from her and she goes for the toe-poke, which is well kept out by the shoulder of Karen Bardsley. She made herself big - good stop.

  62. HALF-TIME

Bristol Academy 0-0 Raheny (Agg 4-0)

BBC Sport's Caroline Chapman reports: "Few chances for either side but Bristol won't mind that, given their four-goal advantage from the first leg.

"There was controversy in the final minute of the half when Katie McCabe appeared to be pole-axed by Vixens captain Jemma Rose on the edge of box.

"German referee Marija Kurtes waved away the hearty Raheny appeals and McCabe limped gingerly away.

"The Irish side will need their striker on form in the second half if they have any hope of turning this game around."

  63. Post update

    Arsenal 0-0 Manchester City

Diving in the women's game! Nobody likes to see that. City full-back Nikki Harding does the hard part, beating two women before going to ground too easily. She is waved to her feet.

But this is City's best spell as Jill Scott waltzes past two players and then wins a corner. It's not dealt with and Scott is able to turn and shovel a shot over the bar.

All-action stuff from Scott. Box-to-box player.

  64. Post update

    Arsenal 0-0 Manchester City

Former England captain and BBC Sport columnist Casey Stoney likes a goal from a corner, and she almost gets clear to meet Rachel Yankey's delivery but fellow England woman Jill Scott sees it out.

After the high-tempo start the game is in a lull. That will suit City.

  66. Post update

    Arsenal 0-0 Manchester City

Lovely stuff, Arsenal midfielder Jordan Nobbs plays a one-two with Danielle Carter and then pings a perfect 40-yard pass into the feet of Shinobu Ohno. Top, top class but Ohno lives up to her name with a poor cross.

Arsenal's gameplan should be give it to Nobbs. She's been a class apart.

  67. Post update

    Arsenal 0-0 Manchester City

Nervy defending again from City as Arsenal win a corner, but the delivery is not up to scratch. Is it fatigue or fear hampering City so far?

  68. Post update

    Arsenal 0-0 Manchester City

Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis watches on from the stands as his side continue to dominate. City youngster Keira Walsh gives the ball away cheaply and shakes her head with disgust.

City were excellent against Chelsea on Sunday but they are a world away so far tonight.

  69. Champions League update

Bristol Academy 0-0 Raheny (Agg 4-0)

BBC Sport's Caroline Chapman reports: "A fairly uneventful first half an hour at Ashton Gate, with Bristol dominating possession without really causing the Raheny keeper any problems.

"Nikki Watts is looking the most effective up front for the Vixens while visiting forward Noelle Murray has been pestering the defence throughout.

"Bristol waited until the final 15 minutes to score three of their four goal in the first leg. Perhaps they're saving the best till last again."

  70. Post update

    Arsenal 0-0 Manchester City

City dangerwoman Toni Duggan has barely had a touch, she looks on with an air of frustration as Arsenal pick another neat move down their left wing. City keeper Karen Bardsley commands her area much better this time to take the cross but the ladies in red are all over this.

  71. CLOSE!

    Arsenal 0-0 Manchester City

What sort of thing is happening here?! A comedy of errors in the Manchester City defence as first Natasha Flint plays a terrible pass across the face of goal and then keeper Karen Bardsley fluffs her lines to give the ball straight to Rachel Yankey.

The England veteran has all sorts of time but drags her shot wide of the near post. If the girls in blue don't sort this out they'll be out of this before you can say Continental Cup.

  72. Post update

    Arsenal 0-0 Manchester City

Former England forward Sue Smith on sports extra

"Are nerves getting to Manchester City? There was no pressure on them against Chelsea on Sunday and they could just go out and play. But that's different tonight and it's showing."

  73. Post update

    Arsenal 0-0 Manchester City

A decent smattering of Arsenal fans in the stand behind Karen Bardsley's goal and they get a good view of the City keeper juggling with the ball from a corner, she eventually tames it but then finds touch with her clearance. City can't get any semblance of possession so far. Big game nerves?

  74. CLOSE!

    Arsenal 0-0 Manchester City

Chance! Sloppy from City in midfield, Danielle Carter feeds Jordan Nobbs breaking into the box and she drags her shot wide of the far post.

    All Arsenal so far.

  75. Post update

    Arsenal 0-0 Manchester City

Former England forward Sue Smith on sports extra

"Arsenal have started very high up the pitch and they're planning to really press Manchester City. They are taking the game to their opponents, that's for sure."

Arsenal v Manchester City (19:45 BST)

While Arsenal aim for a fourth successive Continental Cup triumph tonight, Manchester City are yet to win a major honour.

Arsenal have won 41 league and cup crowns in 21 years, while City have had only one season in the top flight.

"We're prepared for Arsenal's threat," said City manager Nick Cushing.

"To pick up a trophy in our first season would be reward for the team's effort, endeavour and improvement both individually and collectively."

He added: "We'll take the game to them and it's a game we believe we can win.

"For Manchester City it would be a major step in evolving the club and that's the aim, but we know what a difficult task it will be against Arsenal."

  90. Post update

BBC Sport's Caroline Chapman reports: "A 4-0 lead from the first leg against Raheny, a return 'home' game at a 20,000 capacity stadium and a potential meeting with Barcelona in the next round. Not a bad Champions League campaign for Bristol Academy so far.

"The Vixens' resounding win in Ireland last week has put them firmly in control going into tonight's second leg, held at Bristol City's Ashton Gate.

"But cautious manager Dave Edmondson was keen to stress before the game: 'It's still only job half done.'"

  99. That was a goal...

Arsenal v Manchester City (19:45 BST)

As you can tell from that picture, Toni Duggan's volley against Chelsea last weekend was a cracker - one of many in the WSL this season.

We've compiled the best in this video, so check it out and decide which is your favourite.

Like all good goal of the season videos it includes a soundtrack from the Lightning Seeds.

    "Der-der-der De-duh-de, Der-de-der de-der-duh-duh!"

  100. Buzzing with Duggan

Arsenal v Manchester City (19:45 BST)

    Toni Duggan

Manchester City striker Toni Duggan says it is a "massive achievement" to reach the Continental Cup final.

Nick Cushing's side won four of their five group matches in the competition to progress straight to the semi-finals, where they beat Chelsea 1-0.

"I'm buzzing for it. I can't wait," the striker, 23, told BBC Radio Manchester.

Duggan, who joined City from Everton at the start of the 2014 season, continued: "It's a bit different to other finals with Everton. I was younger and didn't feel as much a part of the squad.

"Especially because it's our first one, a new club, our first season and the girls are buzzing, because for some of them it's their first final.

"It's going to be a great occasion so hopefully we come out on top."

In the two Women's Super League games between the clubs this season, City won 1-0 at Arsenal but the Gunners gained revenge with a 4-0 success in Manchester.

It's all to play for at Adams Park.

  101. Team News

Arsenal v Manchester City (19:45 BST)

BBC Sport's Tony Leighton: "As expected, England captain Steph Houghton and goalkeeper Karen Bardsley are back in the Manchester City starting line-up for tonight's final after being rested for Sunday's Super League match against Chelsea."

  102. Champions League update

    Linkopings 2-0 Liverpool (Agg 3-2)

As well as the Continental Cup final, the women's Champions League is in full swing tonight.

League champions Liverpool are chasing the double and are in Sweden for their second leg with Linkopings. The Reds were 2-1 up from the first leg but it's all going wrong now as they trail 2-0 in a game which kicked off at 18:00 BST.

The Linkoping Arena was home to England during Euro 2013. Not a particularly welcoming home it has to be said, as England picked up one point from three group games and crashed out. More pain on the cards tonight...

  103. Post update

Arsenal v Manchester City (19:45 BST)

    Steph Houghten

Steph Houghton knows what it's like to lift the Continental Cup trophy. Look, there she is doing exactly that 12 months ago for Arsenal!

The Gunners have won all three previous FAWSLCC finals in fact and are hoping to make it four in a row.

But Houghton is now wearing the sky blue of Manchester City. Can she lift it again and leave her old side in the doldrums?

  104. Queens of the Continent

Arsenal v Manchester City (19:45 BST)

    The Continental Cup.

    Arsenal Ladies

As misleading a title as baseball's world series, the FA WSL Continental Cup - to give it the full title - does not in fact contain a single team from across the English Channel.

Instead 18 teams from Durham to Doncaster, from Birmingham to Bristol and all four corners of the capital have fought their way through a group stage and last month's semi-finals to lead us to this.

It's Arsenal v Manchester City, in High Wycombe. Let's get the final started...
