Manchester City's former Arsenal defender Steph Houghton speaking on BT Sport: "It feels strange to play Arsenal but my main focus is playing well for Manchester City.

"We have experience of cup finals and if we can help the youngsters and make sure they relax then hopefully it should serve them well in the game.

"If you look at the season we've been a bit inconsistent. We've had ups and downs but we've progressed as a group and it's a real positive that we've reached a cup final."

  9. Changing of the guard?published at 19:28 British Summer Time 16 October 2014

While Arsenal aim for a fourth successive Continental Cup triumph tonight, Manchester City are yet to win a major honour.

Arsenal have won 41 league and cup crowns in 21 years, while City have had only one season in the top flight.

"We're prepared for Arsenal's threat," said City manager Nick Cushing.

"To pick up a trophy in our first season would be reward for the team's effort, endeavour and improvement both individually and collectively."

He added: "We'll take the game to them and it's a game we believe we can win.

"For Manchester City it would be a major step in evolving the club and that's the aim, but we know what a difficult task it will be against Arsenal."

"In a cup final you need experience and the two managers have gone for that. I'm surprised that Kelly Smith isn't starting for Arsenal but she is the not-so-secret weapon on the bench."

BBC Sport's Caroline Chapman reports: "A 4-0 lead from the first leg against Raheny, a return 'home' game at a 20,000 capacity stadium and a potential meeting with Barcelona in the next round. Not a bad Champions League campaign for Bristol Academy so far.

"The Vixens' resounding win in Ireland last week has put them firmly in control going into tonight's second leg, held at Bristol City's Ashton Gate.

"But cautious manager Dave Edmondson was keen to stress before the game: 'It's still only job half done.'"

Manchester City striker Toni Duggan says it is a "massive achievement" to reach the Continental Cup final.

Nick Cushing's side won four of their five group matches in the competition to progress straight to the semi-finals, where they beat Chelsea 1-0.

"I'm buzzing for it. I can't wait," the striker, 23, told BBC Radio Manchester.

Duggan, who joined City from Everton at the start of the 2014 season, continued: "It's a bit different to other finals with Everton. I was younger and didn't feel as much a part of the squad.

"Especially because it's our first one, a new club, our first season and the girls are buzzing, because for some of them it's their first final.

"It's going to be a great occasion so hopefully we come out on top."

In the two Women's Super League games between the clubs this season, City won 1-0 at Arsenal but the Gunners gained revenge with a 4-0 success in Manchester.

It's all to play for at Adams Park.
