Hamilton Accies manager Alex Neil: "We want to keep our best young players at the club unless they are going for considerable money. We will always be a selling club. Dundee have some experienced players, particularly middle to front, so we'll have to be at our best. We're hoping our performance levels continue. It's been a wonderful start and we hope to add to that today. The way we play is pretty simple, when the other team gets the ball we want it back as soon as possible. I expect a high level of work-rate from the players."

Rangers fans' spokesman Drew Roberton: "It looks like he [Mike Ashley] wants to control Rangers Football Club. We think he sees Rangers as a vehicle to expand Sports Direct."

    BBC Scotland reporter Richard Wilson

"Rangers are a hugely loss-making business. They need money to prop them up. They need Mike Ashley to put money in or start cost-cutting. One of those two things, or a combination, is what needs to happen."

"I think Mike Ashley has satisfied the Rangers board that the financial peril is over. He is putting in £2m or £3m for now and will look and see where things stand in a few months' time. For the moment, Rangers' financial worries are over."

Neil: "All the best to Dundee today. Should be a good game. Dundee did well last season against Hamilton but credit to the Accies for being the top team so far this season."

"If Rangers got through this month they certainly were not going to get through next month. The two people at the table were Ashley and King. The smartest thing would have been for them to side with one another but that ship has sailed."

"I think [potential investor] Brian Kennedy was taken very seriously [by the board]. I am told he gave a very impassioned plea for unity and of his vision for Rangers. But the City had to follow the money. The financial muscle of Mike Ashley won the day. It doesn't seem there are many routes back in for Dave King."

"The SFA will write to Rangers next week to seek clarification about this agreement [between Mike Ashley and the the club]. If Mike Ashley increases his shareholding in Rangers I don't think there is anything the SFA can do about it."

Now, my colleague Clive Lindsay is already in place at Firhill for Partick Thistle's game against St Johnstone. He says: "Winter is surely upon us ahead of the dark nights ushered in by tomorrow's turning of the clocks and Firhill could be renamed Windyhill as what feels like a gale whistles up our breeks here at the top of Maryhill. At least, unlike us under the stand that will protect us from any of those forecasted showers, the players have the luxury of bathing in occasional shafts of sunshine as they warm up on the park."

So much has been happening at Rangers. The club's board has agreed Mike Ashley's offer of an initial £2m loan and the option of a new share issue. The Newcastle United owner put forward a financial package on Friday, as did businessman Brian Kennedy - you may remember him from the Blue Knights. Following discussions last night, directors agreed to Ashley's offer this morning with an official announcement expected on Monday. It is understood that, as part of the agreement, chief executive Graham Wallace will step down. He's on holiday on Greece.

Our senior football reporter Chris McLaughlin says a secret source at Ibrox told him Rangers were possibly 48 hours away from administration and that contact had been made with administrators.
