Ryan Young in the Havant & Waterlooville goal has not been tested since conceding Preston's opener. He will be disappointed to have let that one in, having left his near post exposed.

Preston are definitely looking to utilise the pace of Callum Robinson in these early stages and he chases a ball over the top to get away down the left. Ed Harris does well to get across and slide in jut as Robinson pulls the trigger.

Havant & Waterlooville, fifth in the Conference South, have shown some good quality on the ball at times and a neat move ends with JJ Hooper getting caught in two minds as he hits a low ball into the box that is neither a shot or pass and Preston clear.

  4. CLOSE!published at 20:11 Greenwich Mean Time 10 November 2014

Credit to Havant & Waterlooville, they have kept their heads up after that early Preston goal and respond well when 12-goal striker JJ Hooper has a go from distance, before Brian Stock drives just wide from outside the area.

It may have been a bright start by the hosts but sometimes quality prevails as Paul Huntington sends the ball downfield for Callum Robinson, who times his run perfectly to stay onside and races towards goal before firing in at the near post from a tight angle.

Excellent finish from the on-loan Robinson, but keeper Ryan Young might have done better at his near post.

Havant & Waterlooville are up for this. They get straight on the front foot with a free-kick into the area, but Kevin Davies is back defending to boot clear. Got to love this kind of FA Cup tie, you can hear pretty much every conversation in the stands.

Havant & Waterlooville boss Lee Bradbury, speaking to BT Sport: "We will go out and give it our best shot. I don't think the players know who we have, I haven't told them but it is a home tie. We have done well recently. Preston lost their last two but won their previous eight. We will give it a go and see what happens."

Havant & Waterlooville manager Lee Bradbury is a name synonymous with South Coast football.

The 39-year-old striker played for both Portsmouth and Bournemouth during his career (including a 14-month spell as Cherries manager).

His career started started at Cowes Sports on the Isle of Wight, who he turned out for part-time while still in the army.

He took charge of Havant & Waterlooville in October 2012.

Lee Bradbury's Havant & Waterlooville have already played three ties to get through to tonight's first round contest with League One high-fliers Preston.

The Hawks have beaten Swindon Supermarine 3-0, Wingate & Finchley 2-0 and battled through a fourth qualifying round replay against Canvey Island 3-0 to make it into the hat.

It's fair to say Havant & Waterlooville have got a bit of an affinity with the FA Cup.

Back in 2008, their exploits as a Conference South side saw them come within touching distance of upsetting Liverpool at Anfield.

Goals from Richard Pacquette and a Martin Skrtel own goal saw them lead twice before the Reds eventually won 5-2.

The Hawks - who began their cup campaign that season in the second qualifying round - had already upset league opposition in the shape of Notts County in the second round and then League One leaders Swansea 4-2 in a third round replay.

Preston boss Simon Grayson, speaking to BT Sport: "Joe Garner has played a lot of games recently, he is one booking away from suspension and we have an ideal replacement in Kevin Davies. We have certainly not underestimated Havant that is for sure."

Sounds like the PA at West Leigh Park has been struggling in the warm-up as the announcer begins with: "After a great deal of technical problems, here we go...."

  15. Line-upspublished at 19:56 Greenwich Mean Time 10 November 2014

Preston boss Simon Grayson has made the bold move of leaving 11-goal striker Joe Garner on the bench. Veteran Kevin Davies replaces him. Havant & Waterlooville have Brian Stock, who last season was playing for Burnley, in their starting 11.

Preston North End: Jones, Wiseman, Clarke, Huntington, Buchanan, King, Robinson, Browne, Brownhill, Gallagher, Kevin Davies. Subs: Laird, Humphrey, Kilkenny, Garner, Reid, Welsh, Stuckmann.

Right then, there is of a course an FA Cup game tonight as Havant & Waterlooville host Preston.

    Upset on the cards?

  17. Postpublished at 19:50 Greenwich Mean Time 10 November 2014

MK Dons boss Karl Robinson, whose side drew Chesterfield in the second-round, speaking about the FA Cup: "What it did to Warrington, I don't see another cup that does that. We should have pride in such a powerful cup.

"Every time we play against a non-league side, we always put a good team out. It's an important competition. We always want to win.

"It's a chance for us to go to Anfield or Old Trafford - we're one game away. The FA have been clever with the prize money they've put in. It regenerates football clubs."

  18. Postpublished at 19:47 Greenwich Mean Time 10 November 2014

Blyth Spartans manager Tom Wade on his side's trip to League Two strugglers Hartlepool: "It's the fifth away game in six in the Cup. It's a good game. I know [manager] Paul Murray and a couple of lads that play for them.

"They have a young side like us. It's a good tie and local for us. It's going to be a great game. We'll have a lot of supporters there."

  19. 'Good night out'published at 19:46 Greenwich Mean Time 10 November 2014

It is not the Gateshead game itself that worries Warrington boss Shaun Reid too much, though: "I'm more worried that Newcastle is a good night out and I know what my lads are like."
