It's just not Derby's day, is it? Chris Martin holds the ball up and backheels to Craig Bryson whose shot is blocked by Dimitrios Konstantopoulos - Dimitrios to his mates - before Leon Best has the rebound nicked off his toes with an empty net at his mercy.

"He is a world-class goalkeeper, is Petr Cech. He is still playing Champions League football, but if he only plays 12 games or so this season then he might look to move on. He is still a top, top goalkeeper. I wouldn't expect him to move in January, though."

"Derby will be in the shake-up at the end of the season, but their quality in and around the final third has been missing. At half-time they were in this game, but the penalty and going down to 10 men has made it very difficult for them.

"But Steve McClaren's still being positive, still barking orders to his team on the touchline. And you never know - if Derby get a goal now it could be a very nervy last 10 minutes for Middlesbrough."

Middlesbrough continue to press the ball and it almost pays dividends when Lee Grant hammers a clearance into the chest of Kike. Luckily for Derby, the ball rebounds to relative safety.

Some might have written his team off after they failed to win in their opening 10 games, but Burnley manager Sean Dyche is more than content with how his players have adapted to life in the Premier League.

"We're not struggling; we're actually overachieving because people were saying 'will they ever win a game?'," he said. "It's funny how perceptions work. What did people expect? Challenging for the top four?

"But we've tried to be on the front foot away from home because over a season you might win three or four. If you back off every game you've got less chance of doing that. I'd rather regret having a go than regret not having a go but we don't do blind faith - we talk to the players about realities. Can we win the Premier League? No, not at this time. That doesn't mean you can't win any game at any time."

"I was very impressed with Manchester City in midweek at Roma, and actually they're in a great run of form at the moment. They have been like the City we expect. A lot of people thought they were a weakened side in midweek and as a result they might have found it hard. But they didn't - they have a strong squad and any player that comes in seems to do a job for them. And of course the key is confidence. City have a lot of it at the minute.

"As regards Leicester, well I know Nigel Pearson. I played with him at Sheffield Wednesday and he's a great lad. I like the way his teams play and his philosophy on the game is good. In the Championship, Leicester were a very attacking side who scored a lot of goals. At this level, a few players are finding it harder and you do wonder whether they should adapt how they play and just get players behind the ball. They do have players with pace but they must know this season is all about survival in the Premier League. At the minute, they are too open and you can get at them."

"Good play from Middlesbrough. I had said Derby were trying to play through Boro, but that was Boro's turn to break through. Shotton dived in, the referee deemed it was a goalscoring opportunity and it was a red card. Shotton's argued that he got a slight touch on the ball.

"But an excellent penalty from Leadbitter - he took charge and took the ball for the spot-kick as the captain. That was right into the side netting, and now it's a mountain to climb for Derby. It looks like game over."

"Derby keep trying to play through Middlesbrough but Boro are very narrow. Derby keep trying to play the ball through and the ball is always blocked. If Derby are to get any joy then they have to get down the side of Middlesbrough, not through their centre."
