Championship leaders Derby County have swept into an early 3-0 lead at home to struggling Brighton thanks to a Chris Martin double and another by Johnny Russell.

Ipswich, who started the day second in the table, fell behind to Mirco Antenucci's effort for Leeds but Daryl Murphy has since equalised for the hosts at Portman Road. Wigan, one win in 14 league games, have fallen behind to Jonathan Howson's goal for Norwich, while Kieran Lee gave Sheffield Wednesday the lead at Blackburn, who started the day unbeaten in nine league games.

Alex Baptiste has levelled for Rovers. Charlton lead at Nottingham Forest thanks to Callum Harriott's goal at Nottingham Forest. Huddersfield lead high-flying Brentford 1-0 following Sean Scannell's effort. Millwall trail at home to Middlesbrough after Jelle Vossen's goal.

  2. CLOSE!published at 15:31 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December 2014

At the other end, QPR are almost ahead just seconds later. Eduardo Vargas's shot from the left beats goalkeeper Tom Heaton but strikes Michael Keane on the line and the ball is cleared. So close.

Stoke are more than comfortable at the moment against an Arsenal side yet to find their rhythm, and only an excellent block by Mathieu Flamini denies Steven Nzonzi as Stoke again push forward. The visitors need to step up a gear.

  4. GREAT SAVE!published at 15:30 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December 2014

What. A. Save. George Boyd's stunning 25-yard strike looks to be heading for the top corner of the net until QPR goalkeeper Rob Green appears from nowhere to tip it onto the post.

  5. GREAT SAVE!published at 15:28 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December 2014

Palace continue to a press. A corner is whipped in and Scott Dann heads downwards towards goals. The big centre half is denied by a sprawling save from Hugo Lloris.

First attempt on goal for Hull City as David Meyler gains possession just outside the West Brom area and has a pop, but his effort is blocked by Gareth McAuley.

Fairly uneventful stuff and little between two sides who came up together last season and are side by side in the bottom three. No chances yet for QPR's Burnley old boy Charlie Austin with the Clarets looking marginally the more threatening.

Signs of life from Liverpool. This time Philippe Coutinho cuts inside on the left edge of the penalty area and strikes a low shot into the side netting.

  9. Weight of expectation on Liverpoolpublished at 15:24 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December 2014

Former Manchester United striker Andy Cole
    BBC Final Score

"If you look at it from the point of view of last season, I think they may have exceeded expectations last season. They didn't win the league because of the last three or four games. It's been a lot tougher for them this season. They lost Luis Suarez, but they've also lost Daniel Sturridge for a long time through injury."

  10. CLOSE!published at 15:23 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December 2014

Better from Liverpool. Adam Lallana twists and turns on the right before whipping in a dangerous cross to the back post. Rickie Lambert climbs well but heads wide. Best chance of the match for the hosts.

Skills from Yannick Bolasie. The Crystal Palace winger does some sublime showboating as he turns his man with a deft flick on the left. His pull back is perfect for Joe Ledley just 10 yards out but the former Arsenal man fires over. He has to do better.

  12. Postpublished at 15:21 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December 2014

Chances at both ends as Phil Bardsley has a go from 25 yards, Arsenal keeper Emiliano Martinez fumbles but manages to push the ball away to safety before anyone can sneak in. Moments later, Santi Cazorla drives just wide with an effort from distance.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho, speaking to BBC Sport: "My team lost the way I like to lose which is to give everything and being unlucky. Only one team played to win. After the second goal the team lost their emotional balance. A point was the minimum we deserved. There could have been 20 minutes stoppage time but the situation would have been the same because things were happening outside the four lines that the referee couldn't control. The referee can't punish the ball boy who disappeared with the ball, the referee couldn't punish the people in the crowd who kept the ball. I'm not obsessed with records and statistics, that's not for me, I want to win the league."

  14. Manager reactionpublished at 15:18 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December 2014

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew, speaking to BT Sport: "That was about character and discipline against probably best team in Europe at the moment. At the start I thought we stood off Chelsea a bit, but we stuck at it. I've never had six minutes of stoppage time at home before. We've heard of Fergie time but that was about Mourniho time! It's a special day for us. At the end we had players flying in blocking shots and that summed us up. We are in it together and pulling one way. Our tactical plan to stop Chelsea worked quite well. We're delighted to have given a little gee up to the Premier League. I'm sure Jose won't agree."

West Brom are having the better of the early stages of this game and appeal for another penalty when Youssuf Mulumbu's shot possibly strikes the hand of a Hull City player in the home side's area. Nothing given.

  16. Postpublished at 15:18 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December 2014

Palace's Miles Jedinak has a free-kick from 20 yards, a similar position to where he curled in from against Liverpool. No such luck this time as the wall does its job and the ball is cleared. Palace on top at White Hart Lane.

  17. Postpublished at 15:17 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December 2014

    Former England captain Jimmy Armfield
BBC Radio 5 live at Anfield

"Sunderland are keeping the ball well and they have had the first shot on target. Liverpool will have worked out that they have a bit of a game on their hands now but I thought they would have started the game a little quicker. They look a bit tentative at the back, there is a little bit of uncertainty there."

First shot of the game at Anfield is driven well, well wide by Sunderland's Jordi Gomez from 20 yards. Not the best of starts.

Peter Crouch is within the length of a hair on his head of potentially adding a second as he rises to meet a ball into the box, but can't make the connection he would have hoped for and the ball goes wide.
