Dean Glass:, external This is a big result. We needed to show we can score and we have. Very delighted with this. Keep this up Moyes.

Five minutes left. The crowd is awfully quiet again. It is clearly going to take a few more wins to lift Sociedad's fans after a terrible start to the season.

  9. YELLOW CARDpublished at 21:24 Greenwich Mean Time 28 November 2014

If only Elche could defend as well as they foul...

This time Domingo Cisma sees yellow after flinging an arm into Carlos Martínez's face.

    Ugly night for the visitors.

  10. TEN MINUTES REMAININGpublished at 21:21 Greenwich Mean Time 28 November 2014

This is so comfortable for the hosts. There's a little over 20 minutes remaining but the points are in the bag. Moyes is set to make a substitution. Will Carlos Vela be allowed to finish the game?

Coro has just come on for Elche and with his first touch sends an effort whistling narrowly wide of the Sociedad post. Sociedad's fans have not enjoyed too many days like this yet it remains so quiet in the Anoeta Stadium. Maybe they can't believe what they're seeing.

Chelsea Warrior:, external Always thought David Moyes was a decent chap despite shambles during his Manchester United run. Players seem to be responding. Early days though.

Elche have been terrible. Their defence has been non-existent. This is easy pickings for Sociedad.

  18. GOALpublished at 20:53 Greenwich Mean Time 28 November 2014

Take a bow Carlos Vela. A good old-fashioned toe-poke from 12 yards after collecting Carlos Martínez's pass puts Real Sociedad out of sight. Vela has looked a livewire all night and wheels away to celebrate. David Moyes, however, shows little emotion on the touchline. Come on, David. You're winning!

Sociedad aren't hanging around as Alberto de la Bella forces a fine save from goalkeeper Przemysław Tyton. David Moyes wants this done and dusted.

Action-packed start to the new half. After Elche's Adrian Gonzalez spurns a glorious chance to reduce the deficit with a poor header, Carlos Vela forces a corner at the other end.
