"For all their strength in the air, I think Gary Cahill and John Terry are a tad susceptible to pace. If you get someone in and around them who can run at them with the ball at feet, they're a little suspect."
After a collective seven-minute nap, Chelsea wake up. They drive through the middle of the West Ham side, Willian carrying the ball before freeing Eden Hazard on his left. Hazard steps on to his right foot, leans back and piledrives a shot from 25 yards which lifts West Ham keeper Adrian off his feet as he turns it over. Great hit!
Mehul Mandalia: So it's now mandatory for Chelsea's 6ft plus defenders to dive? Mourinho's idea of 21st century football
West Ham starting the second period in a much more outgoing frame of mind, while Chelsea have retreated into their shells. It's only 1-0 - a dangerous game from the hosts?

"That's better already from West Ham with Enner Valencia showing some strength down the left-hand side. That's probably more ambition than they showed in all of the first half."
West Ham force an early corner through the perseverance of Enner Valencia and for once Thibaut Courtois is not pristine, missing the ball. There's a scramble and Chelsea get it away.

For the majority of us, Christmas Day will have been about eating as much food as is physically possible but spare a thought for the top-level multi-millionaire footballer, who will have had to reject that extra portion of Christmas pudding, if they were allowed any at all.
With a full programme of Premier League and Football League action this afternoon most, if not all, managers will have had their players training on Christmas Day,

Ewan Harris: Stupid dive from Ivanovic, we're going to get a reputation
Lewis Kay: Obviously not a dive by Ivanovic, Chelsea are clean...
Alex d'Albertanson: Chelsea have by far outplayed us so far, but that dive from Ivanovic? Pathetic.
Championship: Charlton are a goal down and now a man down in their home game against Cardiff. The Welsh side lead through Tom Adeyemi's header, and the hosts have just had Callum Harriott sent off after he went over the top of the ball and caught Craig Noone in a horrible-looking challenge.
League Two: Matt Tubbs has put AFC Wimbledon 2-0 up in their away game at Portsmouth.

MOTD's Jonathan Pearce at The Hawthorns
"The West Brom players had Christmas Day afternoon off after training in the morning.
"The Doctor Who yuletide special might have helped them prepare. No doubt it was about beings from another planet and how simple earthlings combat them with some special help from the Doctor.
"From his Tardis-like Hawthorns office, Alan Irvine will need more than a sonic screwdriver to stop Manchester City who, at times recently, have looked worlds apart from most Premier League teams."
No team has scored the opening goal on more occasions this season in the Premier League than Swansea City (12). However, they have lost 33% of those games (4).
MOTD's John Roder at the Liberty Stadium
"Swansea beat Villa 4-1 at the Liberty in April, with a double from Wilfried Bony and a magnificent long-range strike from Jonjo Shelvey.
"Villa's Premier League record against the Welsh club is not good, a solitary victory in the last three seasons.
"So they will be glad that Gabby Agbonlahor, who scored in both matches between these sides during the 2013-14 campaign, was successful in appealing his dismissal in last weekend's draw against Manchester United."
There have been six red cards in six Premier League meetings between Sunderland and Hull, including five in the last three games alone.
