Championship: Cardiff have taken the lead at Charlton, as Tom Adeyemi headed in after Ben Turner's flick on from a corner.

Ipswich Town are heading top, maybe for only two hours, as they lead at Brentford through Daryl Murphy's goal inside the opening 20 seconds. Mick McCarthy's side could have doubled their lead but Jay Tabb shot over the crossbar when well placed.

League Two: AFC Wimbledon are leading at Portsmouth through Frankie Sutherland's 35-yard effort.

Jose Mourinho was asked about West Ham's strength at set-pieces before the game but they looked shoddy defending that one. Aaron Cresswell is booked from the restart after clattering Oscar. West Ham need to think of Plan B now.

"From a neutral perspective we needed that goal, as we didn't want West Ham just to come here and shut up shop. They can't do that now and hopefully we'll get a game. They need to show a bit more ambition, ask a few more questions and play a higher line."

It has been coming since kick-off. Chelsea win a corner after a wonderful one-touch attacking move, and then show the flip side to their coin with a tap-in from a corner. Cesc Fabregas curls in the set-piece, Diego Costa heads down and John Terry is clear two yards out to side-foot home.

Diego Costa at full tilt, desperate tackle from James Collins brings him down. Collins confidently points at the ball as it rolls away but he gets booked all the same. Replays show that he did indeed get a touch on the yellow object before bringing down Costa. Unlucky.

Cesc Fabregas takes the free-kick but tamely straight at Adrian. Seconds later Willian forces Adrian into a save. Chelsea warming up?

"Not sure what to make of this West Ham performance so far. We've not seen a great deal of ambition so far and if Chelsea score, it'll be interesting to see how they respond. A slightly bit disappointing from them at the moment."

Jose Mourinho has done many great things in his Chelsea career but pairing Nemanja Matic and Cesc Fabregas together in midfield may well be in his top five. What a pair of signings.

There it nearly is! Cesc Fabregas works a short corner to find Gary Cahill on the edge of the box, the big centre-half cuts in on to his right foot and smashes in a rising drive which West Ham keeper Adrian does well to push out. That was fiercely struck!

West Ham force a corner, and then a free-kick but Enner Valencia's 30-yard effort is wildly ambitious and never looks like testing Thibaut Courtois. Chelsea have had 70% of possession so far. Like that box of After Eights on the sideboard, a Chelsea goal looks like a question of when, not if..
