What a heroic defensive effort from Real Sociedad. They had one shot on target all match, just 27% of possession but held on for a famous win. Barcelona, for all their pressure, only had four shots on target. Not good enough.

Spanish football expert Sam Marsden at Anoeta: "Remarkable. Where will this rank in Moyes' career highlights?

"It might be the sixth time in a row Real Sociedad have dodged defeat against Barcelona at Anoeta, but it doesn't get boring for the locals. The fans are on their feet, waving their scarves and celebrating their side's fourth win of the season - three of which have now come against Barca, Atletico and Real Madrid.

"It's Moyes' second league win since taking charge and this one, La Real will hope, can really kick start their season. A top half finish is a necessity here, while a push for Europe is always appreciated.

"As for Barca, Luis Enrique will have to dodge the unforgiving Catalan press for the next few days. Not even Lionel Messi, Neymar or Luis Suarez could save him here."

Spanish football expert Sam Marsden: "Ruuuuuuullllllli rings around Anoeta because their goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli may have just earned them three points. First of all he brilliantly nabbed the ball off Suarez's feet when it looked like the Uruguayan had rounded him; then he saved a header from the former Liverpool man from point blank range.

"Moyes is still on the touchline, urging his players out from defence. Carlos Vela goes off, bowed to by his adoring public, and Real Sociedad are just stoppage time away from completing a memorable hat-trick: Home wins against Atletico, Real Madrid and Barca in the same season."

Barcelona keep coming but Real Sociedad just won't be breached. Brilliant goalkeeping from Geronimo Rulli as he touches the ball away from the onrushing Luis Suarez.
