"This Chelsea side under Jose Mourinho is the complete package - it is hard to pick flaws in their side. They have got quality covering every position - Petr Cech covering as a Premier League goalkeeper! It's an abundance of riches."

Shaky start! Vincent Kompany had a dodgy re-introduction to the first team last weekend against Arsenal and the Manchester City captain is at it again, taking too long inside his own area in the first 30 seconds and almost losing the ball. That would have been a disaster of a start! Full house now, no spare seats on view.

"There's such a dearth of chances created with Sunderland's defensive shape, but with the arrival of Jermain Defoe that might just change. They are banking on him scoring, with the money they have spent on him."

"Jermain Defoe is a great signing for Sunderland. He was keen to come back after not quite having the kind of time he wanted over in the MLS, but he is a proven goalscorer. If you give him a chance he will take it."

George Garrett on Facebook: Mourinho comments misinterpreted. He means no disrespect to Bradford. Simply, if he picks a typical league line-up which has been dominating all season, and that side puts in as much effort and commitment as usual, no outcome but a Chelsea victory should be possible. Bar poor refereeing, it would be a disgrace on the Chelsea players if they were to lose, because it would have meant that they didn't work hard enough. Jose's comments are a warning to his players: Treat Bradford with respect, just like any other team.

In what seems like centuries ago, City were humiliated at the Riverside on the last day of the 2007-08 season, with 'Boro handing out an 8-1 thrashing as then-City boss Sven-Goran Eriksson headed for the exit door.

    Guy Mowbray
BBC Match of the Day commentator at Etihad Stadium

"It's as tough a tie as Manchester City could have had against non-Premier League opposition. There is a question mark over Middlesbrough's right-back slot - the old stager Dean Whitehead is going to play there today. But Boro are going well in the Championship, and I would say they will be back here to play in the top flight next season.

"It's a strong side Manchester City have named. I think it's the inclusion of Sergio Aguero as he continues his comeback from injury that really makes me lean towards them. I wouldn't be surprised if he's right on form today."

Over 5,500 Middlesbrough fans are packed into the away end at the Etihad and are making a right din as we tick down to kick-off. The game is a sell-out by all accounts but the rest of the stadium is pretty empty. late turnout from the home fans?

"Whatever team Chelsea puts out generally plays well. They have a certain appetite for everything they do, and I don't see any difference in that today.

"You give Bradford a chance, with Chelsea making those changes you never quite know. They will have a plan, and Chelsea sometimes struggle against teams that defend deep."

Bradford City manager Phil Parkinson: "We know it is going to be tough but what a challenge for us. These opportunities don't come along very often so we are going to make the most of it. We only watched half of the game between Cambridge United and Manchester United last night, because the players were having their meal. But it certainly shows what can be done. We have got our own memories of cup shocks as well a couple of years ago and we can use that going into today's game."

Birmingham manager Gary Rowett is relishing the prospect of taking on the local rivals this afternoon with a place in the fifth round at stake...

"It's important to get it right in every game, but this is a big game. The players have got to reflect the passion on the pitch, and that's all the fans want at St Andrews, but we have some good quality on the pitch here as well."

  15. "We could have sold 26,000 tickets"published at 14:46 Greenwich Mean Time 24 January 2015

Bradford City manager Phil Parkinson said: "When we have got the ball we have to play with calmness and I believe we have the players that can do that.

"Two years ago (when they got to the League Cup final) we had great experience against Premier League sides and there are still five or six players for us from that era. We have sold 6,000 tickets for today and we could've sold 26,000, but we want to put on a good show.

"We know it's going to be tough, we're against some world-class players, but we want to make sure we have played well and given everything as these opportunities do not come along often. We're not here to swap shirts or get autographs, we're here to do a job."

    Former Scotland international Pat Nevin
BBC Radio 5 live at Ewood Park

"Deserved over the piece. Blackburn can be very pleased with themselves - it is not always easy against 10 men. There will be one topic of conversation from Garry Monk after the game, and that will be the early sending off. And understandably so, because that made it almost impossible for Swansea to win the game. Concerning times ahead for Swansea and Monk."
