"I think defender Gary Cahill has made one or two mistakes in games, sometimes when he's not playing alongside John Terry. I wonder if Jose Mourinho is thinking about Raheem Sterling's pace. One thing Chelsea don't have in abundance at the back is pace, but Kurt Zouma does."

Gary Cahill has been left out of Chelsea's back four tonight in favour of French youngster Zouma.

We asked what you would've bought Jose Mourinho and Brendan Rodgers for their birthdays - both of which were on Monday.

Kevin in Hornchurch: Jose. A meal in a Bradford Balti house to appreciate the diet of a successful team! Brendan. A trip to Bolton. Oops forgot it is already arranged for him.

Spike from Stamford: I would buy Rodgers a striker and Mourinho a blindfold so he doesn't see his team get humiliated again tonight.

  3. Rodgers warypublished at 19:10 Greenwich Mean Time 27 January 2015

Because of their humbling at the weekend, Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers believes Chelsea will be even more dangerous tonight.

The Blues are still chasing glory on three fronts, and Rodgers is aware of the threat posed by the west Londoners.

"The result at the weekend doesn't help - they will have great motivation," said Rodgers. "When you come off a game like that, you want to put it right."

However, he warned: "There is also that, in the back of your mind, even if you're up in the game - like they were, 2-0 - you can still lose the game. So I'm sure there'll be that wee bit of trepidation."

  8. Saturday's shockerpublished at 19:03 Greenwich Mean Time 27 January 2015

Saturday's result at Stamford Bridge was a shocker, wasn't it? And how good was Jon Stead? Get him called up, Roy.

It was the first time a side coached by Jose Mourinho had conceded four goals in a home game and not since we found out that Brazil weren't actually that good at football* have we been so shocked.

Will the Blues recover their mojo tonight? Or will Liverpool pile on the agony?

    * OK, not that good at football compared to the Germans.

  9. Bojan's season KOpublished at 18:59 Greenwich Mean Time 27 January 2015

Bad news for Stoke fans this evening, with the news they will be without striker Bojan Krkic for the rest of the season after he suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury during Monday's FA Cup fourth-round tie at Rochdale.

What a blow that is for the Potters. I, for one, have enjoyed watching the little magician play in recent weeks.

Did you see his spectacular goal last night? If not, get clicking here.

  10. Postpublished at 18:58 Greenwich Mean Time 27 January 2015

BBC Sport chief football writer Phil McNulty at Stamford Bridge

"Brendan Rodgers insists Liverpool travel to Chelsea without trepidation after an impressive performance to draw 1-1 in the first leg of this Capital One Cup semi-final at Anfield - but can the same be said for Jose Mourinho's side after their shock 4-2 home defeat to Bradford City in the FA Cup?

"Rodgers is seeking his first trophy as Liverpool manager and it would be a real statement of intent to reach Wembley at the expense of his mentor.

"Will Chelsea still be feeling the nerves after that FA Cup shock or will Liverpool feel the backlash from a wounded team and manager?"

Jose Mourinho is not taking any chances after Chelsea's embarrassing FA Cup exit at the hands of Bradford. The Blues boss has wheeled out his big guns, with Mourinho making nine changes in total to the side that started at the weekend. Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, captain John Terry, midfielders Cesc Fabregas and Eden Hazard, as well as striker Diego Costa, are among those returning.

Five changes for Liverpool, with Steven Gerrard back in the side after the goalless FA Cup fourth round draw with Bolton. Defenders Martin Skrtel and Alberto Moreno, and midfielder Lucas Leiva and Lazar Markovic, all start. Forward Mario Balotelli is back on the bench after being left out at the weekend.

  17. Fletcher to leave Man Utdpublished at 18:47 Greenwich Mean Time 27 January 2015

Elsewhere, Manchester United have given midfielder Darren Fletcher a free transfer so he can move to another club during the current transfer window.

Fletcher, whose contract expires this summer, has been linked with a move to either West Ham or West Brom.

Big Sam or TP? Tough choice that. I wouldn't want to upset either of them.

We'll build up to tonight's game shortly, but first let's have a whistle-stop tour through today's big football stories.

Of course, there are none bigger than Notts County's decision to overturn their Facebook ban on Hungary...

The club blocked the entire country after it was swamped with the message: "No Bajner, no party". Fans' comments came after the Magpies signed Hungarian striker Balint Bajner, 24, from Ipswich Town.

The club said it was forced to take "drastic action" to stop the messages but it was always a temporary measure and has now been reversed.

Good news all round. Is Bajner throwing an open house party to celebrate?
